Aha, that's because I had not gone to that thread for a while. I think many are envious of you. Nice, nice. :):)
samuel882 06-15-2008, 07:49 PM If you mean that, then everyone has no advantage as the results are available for all to see in this Singapore Open. In some tournaments, results are not easily available on the website or not at all and only those watching at the venue or over TV have the advantage of knowing the results.
Unless, like Hauge, he gets close to the players and size them up before deciding whether to pick them or not. In that sense he has intimate knowledge of the players and that would be more than so-called home ground advantage. Knowledge like whether the player is feeling well or hiding an injury, etc.
In the case of the PAW, luck plays an important part. It is not unusual to learn that a PAWer who knows nothing about many of the players, but just pick them basing on the results or nothing and win. Quite a few first-timers like yourself have won the PAW, and I don't think you can claim you know the players well, that's why you won. You happen to have more luck than others for this PAW. :)
It is an insulting to limsy to say his win was purely depends on luck itself.
Let me tell u the example : Butet /vita : Those watching live at stadium only will know that one of them carrying injured during QF and wont PAW for them for SF.(I dont think only hauge with the close link among players is the only one know, unless u skip to watch that match live:rolleyes:)
If we just looking the results from the livescore, we will thought that the INA tomboys actually in brilliant form to eliminate the ENG WD pair .
That's what i meant advantages;)

Ah hah, don't put words in my mouth. You are just trying to create a misunderstanding! I never insulted limsy in the way you instigated. I'm just stating a fact that luck plays a very important part in our PAW game. Otherwise you would not have new winners most of the time and some of these winners were first timers.
Regarding Butet/Vita, I don't think many watching at the venue would know one of them is injured and to what extent. Frankly I also did not notice that as there were a few matches playing at the same time and not all would just focus on their match. Sometimes too, a slightly injured player may also win. Even the players themselves need luck and try to avoid unforced errors too many times!
Most like me would consider the past day's results and the scoring points before making a decision on our PAW selection. Those taking higher risk will be rewarded with higher scoring points if they are lucky! Just think of the big winners you had in the past and you knew hardly anything about the 'new' players you had selected! Much depends on the individual PAWer's own situation - whether he/she needs to catch up by taking higher risk or to play safe.
So IMO, LUCK is the dominant criterion as upsets are not uncommon! ;)
cooler 06-15-2008, 09:59 PM Actually got some conflicted with my ex-teammates, need to clarify something before confirming limsy for replacement...
so much politics:D
so much politics:D
But the ROF Team now has the opportunity to get two top-scoring replacements, an undue advantage over the other PAW teams!

Sandy 06-15-2008, 11:19 PM Additional pressure has come this week, It's called "Knock Down" PAW. Some PAWers take decision in PAW was influenced by the opponent in "Knock Down"
Two newcomers limsy & modious succesfully took place in 1st & 3rd position, without play in "Knock Down" they didn't need divide the attention in PAW playing.
huangkwokhau took advantage of this condition, left behind in day-1 & day-2 from his opponent madbad, he created big shots in QF and lead in final day.
Congratulations to the winners :)
Thank's for all PAW participant, see you again in next tournament, Indonesia SS :)

Haha, small compensation for getting knocked out by Hauge in the Knockdown draw. Very bad draw indeed, Sandy :D
fd16n 06-16-2008, 02:45 AM Congratulation for all podium performers, and also to madbad for become the new number one ranking, thanks Sandy to organize this game very well. I look forward to PAW IO SS at which I have to face badmania (one of many BC members that I usually enjoy reading his opinion and analysis) that makes me feel honoured to play with him.
Dreamzz 06-16-2008, 05:00 AM well done folks, loads of upsets in a much depleted SS, but some people performed well nonetheless!
