Just wondering, how tight do you guys actually tie your shoelaces? I've been getting blisters all over my feet, and my competition is next week. So yeah, what is the ideal tightness?

You get blister because of poor comfort so it might be your insole not how tight you tie your shoe. Are you by any chance flat foot?

Nope i'm not flat footed. Anyway i've just got a new pair of SHB-100LTD so i doubt that the problem is with the shoe

It's probably because you haven't broken into the insole yet. Once the insole molds into your foot shape then you it remove the blister problem.

I see. Thanks for your reply! But anyway is it good to have your shoelaces tight? One of my seniors told me that shoelaces should be tied to the extent that a finger won't be able to slid under the shoelaces

It should be just tight enough so you can move around without your foot sliding around in your shoes. Other than that, it really depends on your personal preference, as long as it feels good.

Just as dnacid said, it should be tight enough so your feet don't move inside your shoe but don't do it to the level where it's too tight and you can't feel your feet.

Are you wearing the correct shoe size for your feet?

Well it might be a little spacious at the tip of the shoes, but otherwise very comfortable, and no problems with it. :D

It should be snug all the way through. If there is too much space, that might be the reason why you are getting blisters. If your toes are sliding around as you lung and jump, the rubbing against the shoe will cause blistering. You should tie the front of the shoes a little tighter.

Also, cotton socks cause more blisters than synthetic ones, if that helps.

It may sound stupid but i wear wool socks where it has a good feel.

Wool is good at preventing blisters as well.
