Not really surprising it is close. Jie seems to be close to her best form again after many injuries :). Also the reason I am not PAWing on Tine for this match ;) although it was part of my original strategy which I can throw out the window after this round already :p...
Singapore first round was about when the ruling came in she still can't go to the Olympics. A decision against which has been another appeal this week ...

One difference I noted between CHN and non-CHN players is that CHN players can maintain consistency better than non-CHN over continuous tournaments.
Maybe Tine is still tired, although she never dropped a game last week, it wasn't plain sailing.

Looks like withdrawal is in Tine's mind. Probably it's hard for her to produce good outcome in back-to-back tournament particularly Super Series level, example Tine won MAS SS then she missed KOR SS, also happened when she became All England winner then she didn't participate SUI SS.

he he, yeah. My point was, same as Hareef, their draw is easier than their team mates on the other half. Your heros & legandary Tony/Chandra are on the top half, harder
Harder match means better sparring for Kido/Hendra's preparation (win/loss).
However, Bona/Ahsan get a cheap ride to the QF and that's good for the rankings too.
We have a number of promising young pairs breathing below those first-teamers. Just heard that Rizky/Albert might be called to Pelatnas (under Herry IP) as he thinks that this pair is far better than all the other pairs in Pelatnas Pratama.
So, we have:
Pelatnas First Team:
1. Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan (World Champion, World No 1)
2. Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto (no 7)
3. Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi (no 20)
4. Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki (no 21)
Pelatnas Second Team:
1. Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan (back in the top 50)
2. Fernando Kurniawan/Lingga Lie (should be in top 70 after end of Thailand Open GP Gold)
Pelatnas Pratama:
1. Wifqi Windarto/Afiat Yuris Wirawan (comfortably placed at no 62)
2. Syahmie Syarif Radhitian/Adi Chrisna Wijaya (who also get a good result in their first SS)
Djarum:
1. Rendra Wijaya/Fran Kurniawan (no 31)
2. Rizky Yanu Kresnayadi/Albert Saputra (beat Rian/Yoke surprisingly today, maybe joining Pelatnas Pratama)

Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati have also done well in amassing 5040 pts this week and should just enjoy their (expected) match against Zheng Bo/Gao Ling on Friday. They might just break the top 30 (with still 2 tournaments to spare) after the Thailand Open GP Gold next week.

Well, the tournaments that these players will be sent to are different anyway, with the Second Team mainly sent to Int Challenge, GP and GP Gold events in Asia; while the Pelatnas Pratama only focussing on the Int Futures, Series, and perhaps Vietnam & GGJP Int Challenge events.
As for Djarum players, expect them to be sent to European events more often to consolidate their rankings further.

Singapore and Indonesia SS will be the last events they represent Djarum. They have been recalled to Pelatnas and will be under Sigit Pamungkas.
