View Full Version : match 3. kwun 05-16-2002, 08:41 AM Bao leading Hafiz 3-1. kwun 05-16-2002, 08:44 AM wow. that was fast. bao won first game, 7-1 fatbird 05-16-2002, 08:46 AM First time I saw Bao plays. He's just top-notch. I think he is the best single in China's man squad. He'll win unless something major happens. kwun 05-16-2002, 08:48 AM 2nd game. 2-2. kwun 05-16-2002, 08:50 AM 4-2 Bao. kwun 05-16-2002, 08:58 AM 2nd game goes to Hafiz. 7-4. kwun 05-16-2002, 09:03 AM 3-1 bao. kwun 05-16-2002, 09:12 AM 6-6. Mag 05-16-2002, 09:16 AM Wow, what a comeback Hafiz did in the 3rd set, from 1-6 to 8-7! kwun 05-16-2002, 09:17 AM Hafiz took 3rd game 8-6. Hafiz lead 2-1. dangerous times for China. Mag 05-16-2002, 09:17 AM Can anyone of you who are watching it give some comments? Who do you feel has the upper edge? Is Bao shaken? kwun 05-16-2002, 09:17 AM i meant 8-7. aikes. kwun 05-16-2002, 09:23 AM bao takes 4th game 7-1. looks like he regained his composure. fatbird 05-16-2002, 09:25 AM 2 sets all. Bao made too many mistakes. He definite has an upper hand. Grest match. fatbird 05-16-2002, 09:32 AM Just a follow up. Bao lead 4-1 before losing 7-4 in the 2nd. Leading 6-2 and missed 7 game point and lost 8-7 in the 3rd. Won comfortably 7-1 in the 4th. Leading 4-1 now. Bao plays great attaching games. Mag 05-16-2002, 09:33 AM Thanks. Keep it coming if possible, the scoreboard is just sooo erratic. fatbird 05-16-2002, 09:36 AM 5-2 now. Whenever Bao leads by a big margin, he starts to make mistakes. kwun 05-16-2002, 09:37 AM the network is so slow here. 5-4 on last game. bao leading. fatbird 05-16-2002, 09:38 AM 6-5 now. Hafiz leading. Can you believe it. kwun 05-16-2002, 09:40 AM what happened?? he was leading 5-2! fatbird 05-16-2002, 09:41 AM 7-5. Hafiz won. China may kiss goodbye to T/C kwun 05-16-2002, 09:41 AM ops. bao lost 7-5. china is in big trouble... andymcg 05-16-2002, 09:42 AM hafiz wins 7-5 in 5th set! Ricky 05-16-2002, 09:43 AM  :( ^shaz^ 05-16-2002, 09:43 AM ouchhhh..... kwun 05-16-2002, 09:44 AM indeed. twice did Bao lead by a margin, and twice he crumbled and failed to convert. perhaps LYB gamble on using youngsters failed. we will just have to wait for the rest of the games to unfold.... Mag 05-16-2002, 09:46 AM What a turnaround! Hafiz must have just made the match of his lifetime! (so far...) Sorry all China fans, I don't mean to gloat, but I would just love to see the look of Li YongBo now... I am sure who wins second doubles will make the final. andymcg 05-16-2002, 09:51 AM Agreed Mag. I think it is reasonably certain the Lin Dan will win at 3rd singles, although I thought Bao would also win fairly easily! kwun 05-16-2002, 09:52 AM actually, LYB's face would be even more scary. yes. this will be the game that determine the outcome. actually, China need to win 3rd singles as well. but Lin Dan is hopefully more battled than Bao. poor Bao, there must be a couple tons of weight on his shoulder. fatbird 05-16-2002, 09:59 AM I suspect the young Chinese single players are too arrogant (?? can't find a better word). They just think the game is over when they are enjoying a big lead or just had a great comback. Bao should win comfortably but he let it goes. In some sense, they really lack the mental preparation that the last point is the most difficult. I'm sorry that Bao lost but he is a terrific player. He is the most exciting player in China squad since the old Zhao JH or yang Yang. He plays a fanastic game with great talent. Hope this lost will not haunt him in the future. Congrulate Hafiz. He has an exact opposite mentality of the Chinese. He stick in, fighting point by point and won. Most of the other players will just give up the game in this circumstances, not him. Great stuff. edwin 05-16-2002, 10:09 AM I wonder whether LYB will yell at Bao Chunlai the same way he did to Wei Yilli and Zhang Jiewan. nauknip 05-16-2002, 11:33 AM Hafiz was great. He was the key to Malaysia's victory. He was calm most of the time and wasn't disturbed even when he was trailing. And the biased linesmen who affected Wong CH greatly and led to his defeat didn't had the same effect on Hafiz. He got over it very quickly and got back to his game. In contrast, Bao lost concentration at certain points especially in the third game, and obviously appeared troubled when Hafiz successfully scored a few points at one go. WELL DONE HAFIZ!!!!!!! way to go!!!!! kel 05-16-2002, 01:01 PM Congratulations to Hafiz!!! and my heart also to Bao Chunlai who must be deeply depressed after the match. |
