no upset yet :D

Boonsak had no answer when LD upped the pace. LD then unloaded a series of killer cross court smashes that BP could only wave at. In the end, BP didn't even move for it. In summary, a clinical display by the world #1.

BP proved to be a great challenge, too bad his fitness level is so poor...
Didn't he recently fail some fitness test set by Thailand Badminton... He has great defense and lethal backhand attacks at times.

It was so strange to see Boonsak lift so many times to Lin Dan's forehand back corner.

That is one of LD's strongest spots...
and he punished quite a few of the lifts with his trademark crosscourt winners :o

BP has this quirky action in his lifts where he tries to deceive the opponent. In the end, LD read it with ease. Too much lifting allowed LD to control the game

I guess quite a few critics are gonna crawl out of the woodwork to say that the Thailand Open is no big deal.

But consider how much of a morale boost this is for Lin Dan (and China) on the eve of the biggest sporting spectacle ever ;)

The outsized cheque for 4,200USD doesn't put a smile on Boonsak Ponsana's face.
After all, he lost on home turf... before his people ;)

Errrr. PSH in TC finals didnt have Li Mao by his side, he dragged LD to 3 exciting sets. Li Mao for sure would want his students to beat China MS, esp Li Dan, esp after the Korea Open incident :D:p

For me, I think today LD didnt pull his full arsenal. Similar feeling to when LCW beat Simon S in SO, Boonsak wasnt in LD's league, make it look like easy. Boonsak couldnt keep up with LD, hence..... I think some of you all call it outclassed.

Live telecast in RTM 1 has ended. I am watching the match from live score.

They will conserve energy if they have to face non-CHN's opponents the next day.
Okay, sorry for that, no offence! You're right, I'm not watching the game n just talking cock!

F-38-I, the Xd match was pretty run of the mill except the ending, He habin & Yu Yang were smilling most of the way, quite relaxed in facing their team mates. And yes, nowadays China vs China has gone into rubber more often than it used to.

LL just gave up second game, 100% give up :(
ya kah? RTM stopped broadcasting, dunno how 2nd set went.

Is HK Cable tv still showing?

Wah... Ms Zhang kelong.... Ms Wong must have said... if you dun loose, cannot come Ipoh and eat pamelo or guava. Not even chicken biscuit...:D:D:D:D I tell your boyfriend, cannot feed u. No 'chicken noodle' also.:D

Notice that lulan attack xxf back hand and continuously doing the diagonal on her. Good strategy to adopt for other opponents. A weak point.

I couldnt get the feed from HK cable tv,so oh well....WPT/CEH could often take a set from them but seldom win in the end. For Msia WD, more interesting to watch the youngsters, they're a different breed, also play XD.

Oops, MD finished already. Guo/Xie retired aft losing 1st set. hmmm, Xie too tired aft winning XD I suppose :p

It's a wrap, China took all 5 titles.

There a total of 14 upsets, but none in Semis or Finals, which all went as expected.
Take note that the upsets seemed more cos there were 16 seeded players in MS.
Upsets in R64 & R32 = 7
Upsets in R32 & R16 = 5
Upsets in QF = 2

Well, the idea (patented by LYB) is to be generous and let every one of the seniors (read: Olympic frontliners) have a title.

Since Xie Zhongbo already bagged the XD, it was only fitting that Cai Yun & Fu Haifeng not sweat too much for the MD cheque ;)

Allthesame, poor Guo Zhengdong.
Everyone forgot about his need to win :p

WD:http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/images/flags/CHN.gif Wei YANG & Jiewen ZHANG [1] v http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/images/flags/MAS.gif Eei Hui CHIN & Pei Tty WONG [4]

YW/ZJW have been struggling in form lately. This would be an interesting match and I would not be surprised if the match dragged into a rubber but the top seeds will still prevail at the end...
WD: As predicted, CHN WD prevailed in rubber games.

XD: Whoever wins the match gets the ticket to Beijing.

WS and MD: Whoever wins the 1st game win the match.

Hahaha... the 'clean sweep' is very well said :D
You should have found a red broom as well.

The only thing now in the red broom's way is Malaysia's WD team.
I wonder if they can stave off this 'sweeping' challenge :p
..so it's officially over, a clean sweep by the CHN squad...And i believe this is their first sweep ever for all events, in a tourney, for quite a long time (someone correct me)??...Congrats!!

Nice tune up for CHN. With scant resistance, they expectedly snagged every event fielding their uber powerful squad. A bit of fine tuning here and there once they get back to training but it's full steam ahead towards Beijing.

Don't know if it might become a trend for a country to send their top players to a lower level tournament for tune-ups/experimentation. Seems like a success so far

Last time China squad bagged 5 titles is 2005 China Masters in Beijing which also lack of top names except Chinese players of course at that time due the event was held only two weeks after Anaheim World Championship 2005.
