I guess Nyl Yakura and Michelle Li won't be participating for Canada in this tourney.

1st PERUVIAN TEAM
2nd MEXICAN TEAM
3rd USA TEAM
4th BRAZILLIAN TEAM
Peruvian team created the biggest upset against US team when their No 1 single, Mario Cuba surprising beat Howard Shu in a 3 setter match. In addition, Mario & Bruno Monteverde, his double partner also stole a point in BD when they beat US pair, Howard Shu & Calvin Lin. All our boys lost their match versus Peruvian boys. Our 2 points were won by our girls team of Rena Wang & Priscilla Lun (GS & GD).
From the US line up, i could see 1 major flaw, starting from the MX double pair. To secure 1 point, it appears to me that Howard Shu & Priscilla Lun might have been a better pair to earn 1 point. And then we can sacrifice our BD point because our Girl Team is way stronger than their girls. Go girl power !! Ah well ...maybe next year ...
But Mario Cuba is definitely a player to watch from that region ... i saw him played last year in USBDF Winter Int'l. He is a very smart player who knows how to create pressure to his opponent at critical moments.

...surprised also to see Peru come out on top. Even Mexico finished higher than the U.S. squad.
On that note, eventhough he's still relatively young, hopefully Mario Cuba can come and participate in the U.S. Open, next yr..;)
