XXF has a pricky path, 1st round against CSC is just as bad as playing Yippie..

Tine has a decent chance, problem with her is not the CHN players, but the experienced ex-CHN players. And she's due to play Wang Chen in q-finals.

ZN has a pretty bad draw, both Jun and Pi ready to draw swords. Her invincibility is almost gone now, unless a miracle happens.

Lu Lan has the best chance to the medal rounds, even then, expect a long battle with WMC where an upset is always possible.
Ahh still remember that game last year where WMC had like around 10 point advantage in the second game but LL came brilliant back from behind to win.
I think LL will do really well if she can keep her errors down.

I love to see Mew Choo win. In fact Mew Choo's sister is my good friend...but then I think Tine Ramussen is the strongest in that list. Having said that Xie Xingfang is also in the contention. Therefore, I think all these 3 players have the chance to get the gold medal. Whoever is in the best condition ( injury free ) will win. There is very little separating all 3 of them. I am not surprise if there are some upsets here and there. The crowd will be cheering the Chinese team. This is the double edge sword. If they feel pressure, like what happened to Chong Wei in Malaysia, they will succumb to the pressure but if they take it as energy or motivation to do well, then the dragon will be invincible in the dragon's lair. Lets see. This will be interesting.

Lu Lan has a very kind draw until she comes up against WMC in the QF. If LL wins, XXF will be give a free pass to the final. Poor LL, it's not her time yet, maybe she'll be the senior shuttler and get all the perks in London in 2012. Her match with WMC will be a close affair indeed. I think if the MAS lass wins, she'll give XXF all she can handle.

The more I thought about it, the more I think Tine might have peaked too early. She has a couple of potential banana skins in her path, Maria Kristin, then Wang Chen. For the sake of interest in the tournament, I hope she survives. CHN will be sh*t scared of her ;)

Well, if she can play intelligently and not lift so much, Maria might make it .....

Tine is vulnerable against older experienced ex-CHN players like Xu Huaiwen, Pi Hongyan and Wang Chen. But she can hold her own against ZN and XXF.

Tine is carrying too much pressure. I think most of Wong's pressure has been diffused by the presence of super good friend Chong Wei and the MD pairs.

I watched the match with Anna Rice this morning. She was beat 21-7 and 21-12. Lu Lan was never in any serious trouble during the match, however, I thought Anna did a great job considering Lu Lan is seeded 2nd in the tournament ... and Rice is seeded 32nd in the world.

The biggest shame is that badminton had been dropped from the Olympics. It's a real shame ... and although China dominated ... it was always something to shoot for.

I'm actually kind of hoping Zhang Ning will take it. She'll be endeing her career relatively soon, and I really wanna see Xie be beaten :P even though I'm a some-what fan. Dont really care who will take that WS gold. All I know is that Malaysia got a gem in WMC, and she is worth more than an Olympic gold.

Normally, I dont feel sad when MAS shuttlers get beaten and etc, but I must admit I am sad to see WMC being out of the Olympics.

..Zhang Ning for being able to win back-to-back OG Gold WS title (and being the only player to ever do so). But on the other hand, i can feel for XXF for not being able to capture Gold this yr (unlike LinDan). Oh well, i guess that's the way the dice rolls...Maybe she can try her luck again in 4 more yrs, if she is still playing in the BWF circuit..:cool:
