Well...I am glad that there are a thread on swimming for those swimming lovers here..I am cheering for Tao Li tomorrow and i think she has a great chance to win a medal in the 100M butterfly.I am really impressed by this young girl and she has a great future.Entering final in the Olympic Game is a great achievement since swimming mostly dominated by non Asian swimmers and she is just 18 this year,what a rare talent and is good for Singapore.Hope she can win a medal tomorrow.

yes, a swimming thread is created.. i'm a huge fan of Australian swimming team, so yeah, i'm rooting for the Aussies... and let's hope Grant Hackett to become the first man to win 3 consecutive golds from 1500 m freestyle.. although there's Larsen Jensen that can challenge him, but i believe in Hackett..

Park won because no Ian Thorpe this time.. but by winning gold at this young age, i respect him.. let's see if he can break Thorpe's record in near future, then i'll be sure to support and respect him more..:)

Btw, I think Phelps will probably get 5 to 7 gold medals. He will either lose one of his relays or his pet events.

Hopefully, Wu Peng will surprise him in 200m fly.

I saw Daniel in action yesterday... though he broke the national record, it wasnt good enough to qualify for the semi finals... none of our swimmers qualifies for the semi finals or finals... sad sad sad... SG has Tao Li in the final today... I think she can win a bronze medal... she is goooooddd..... :)

Definitely USA and AUS will dominate this aquatics-swimming event. It's so exciting to wait whether swimming star Michael Phelps will break Spitz's record this time in Water Cube or not. From Asia, Japanese Kosuke Kitajima and South Korean Park Tae-Hwan has delivered one gold each for their country.

The German swimmers are performing really poor! Perhaps because they're the only ones in Adidas suits but I'm sure those must've performed just fine in practice otherwise they surely wouldn't use them ...

though i am not a big swimming fans, i do admire both Thorpe and Phelps. I watched the race (OG2004) and i still remember that was the greatest race by far (Thorpe, Netherland guy, and Phelps). No doubt, Thorpe won the GOLD but Phelps did better in OG08...

now, he is the greatest olympiad in the history with 11 GOLDs... and still counting... :eek:

so a local newspaper says the reason is that the track n field is so tarnished by doping that nbc is avoiding covering track n field.

1. status quo format with feather
2. forehand strokes only
3. backhand strokes only
4. drive shots only
5. netting shots only
6. format #1 to 5 using feather, then with Mavis shuttles

2x5=10 possible events which LD could get 10 golds:p

Now let throw in
- fourseome on MD, WD and XD formats.

Ex foursome MD (hanbin, zhengbo, FHF, CY versus MKido, HSetiawan, Nova, flandy)

It's really a miracle that he won the 4x100 free and 100 butterfly gold. But of course he deserved it.

If it is for 100m butterfly, then our Tao Li should win the gold for her new Asian record of 57.54 sec and the first Singaporean to enter the finals and placed 5th in a line-up of taller opponents! :D
