How hard can I string my TiSP SR without risking breaking it? The Yonex recommendation is 18 lbs max, but I'm sure it can take more than that. Will I void the guarantee if I string over 18 lbs?
Thanks.

string it at whatever tension you like... the recommended tension for a mp100 is like 22.. or sumthing like that... one of my friends strings her's at 28-30.... but then she doesn't really care all that much if it snaps cuz she's going to get a sponsorship anyway... seeing as how she's a current national champion...

If you string above the manufacturer's recommended tension, your warranty is void but most folks do string above that anyways. The higher tension put more stress on the frame and increases the chances of the frame cracking/breaking on a mishit or a racquet clash.

Will the SR take more than 18 lbs? Definitely.

Hi there!

I usually have my racket strung at around 23 to 25 lbs. I've asked my stringer how he can consistently string at such tensions and not break the racket. His secret is using a racket clamp/molder (like the ones used in wooden tennis rackets long ago) to support the frame before he actually strings the racket.

Unfortunately, I don't know where to get those things.
