i think the 1st pictures is the venue..hmm..i think it is also a venue for Asia games 2010..guang zhou.china.

Changzhou (常州) is NOT THE SAME as Guangzhou (广 (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E5%B9%BF)州 (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E5%B7%9E)). One is in Jiangsu province, one is in Guangdong province.

I have been told that INA, MAS and KOR did not send their players at all.
I have mix message on DEN...one source said that Gade and othes are going.....then they said they are not sure if DEN is going to CHN....I suspect that only Joachim and Jan is going....

It's reported in the Stars that there will be a strong contingent from MAS in the China Masters Super Series 2008, esp in MD. Lee Chong Wei will be competing in the MS.

Excellent strategy to blitz the MD by numbers.
But what's the point of sending HH to SS? Hasn't he exited 1st round for 3 SS tournaments already? That's so confidence shaking. Why don't MAS send HH to GP gold tournaments to build up his confidence and physical and mental conditioning? Let young guns like TCS, CWF,Arif take his place in turn to gain more exposure, until HH wins a GP Gold title (or the final, as a discount.)

This is weird that BWF official told me that he did not see any entries from MAS...
..the BWF official wasn't updated or............badMania got the list from an outdated info...;)

It's from the Star yesterday's (Wednesday) edition :p

Interestingly, Kompas also reported (yesterday) that Greysia Polii/Nitya Krishinda Maheswari will be competing in 3 tournaments consecuvitely, starting from the Yonex Chinese-Taipei GP Gold, Japan Super Series and China Masters Super Series. They will be the only WD pair that will be sent to ALL the 3 tourneys.

I am quite excited abt the prospect of this pair, given Greysia's experience and form, with Nitya's power play. Ko Aryono (the WD and XD coach) also stated that this pair (21 yo/19 yo) will be for the future and has the talent to match Vita Marissa/Liliyana Natsir as INA WD No 1 pair for the future.

The other 5 WD pairs will be either competing in the CTO GP Gold (Nadya Melati/Nathalia Christine Poluakan, Devi Tika Permatasari/Yulianti, Jo Novita/Rani Mundiasti, Lita Nurlita/Endang Nursugianti) or Japan Super Series (Vita Marissa/Liliyana Natsir). I am not expecting so much of the 4 back-up pairs....just find it a pity that Yulianti has to split up with Richi Puspita Dili. I thought these 2 makes quite a good pairing.

Simon will play Taipeh,japan and Macau..I have been told by INA coach.
marleve told me that those WS will play at Macau...tough to play 4 tournaments in a row....if TH does not play at China Open then he will play at macau....

Yup...so Sigit Pamungkas will be in charge of Kido/Hendra and Rian/Yoke, while Herry IP will still be handling AG/Joko and Bona/Ahsan.

They talked about going to play independently with Luluk..anyway it was 2 months ago......things can change now....I think Luluk or Alvent can play competitively if both get younger partner...even Luluk can pair with Greys or any other girls for XD if he does not play double..I think they still have 2 or 3 yrs before expiring date....

Yeah, it's hard to compete several tourneys in consecutive weeks and produce good result. As we know, there're 14 non-stop tournaments in BWF Calendar, busy schedule from September to early December.

Based on M/Q report through BWF website, it's true XXF will not take part. Greysia Polii as planned will play WD (with Nitya K.Maheswari) and XD (with Flandy Limpele).

There's no qualification round for all 5 disciplines due to lack of participants in this SS. Many shuttlers will skip CHN Masters even KOR is totally absent, hmm what's going on?

..i have a feeling it'll take at least towards the end of the year to get all the players back...:confused:..maybe when kwun visits home, HK??..:cool:
Btw, i don't know about this, but any other BCers, who've been around the 2004 OG (e.g.kwun, cooler, ants, Cheung), remember how was the badminton competition's atmosphere post the Athens Olympics??..How long did it take for the pro-badminton scene to regain its competitive atmosphere??..:confused:

Koreans seem to boycott the games in China for the unfair judgement against JJS/LYD last year.
