Or those shoes no need to wash? phandrew 08-21-2008, 08:01 PM If you are talking about the soles i wash them after each session. If you are talking about the whole shoe then i never do it. CUTTER 08-21-2008, 10:29 PM ohh that reminds me i really need to clean my shoes. i never did since i got them! XD drifit 08-21-2008, 10:39 PM "Dry Clean Only" eddiemon 08-22-2008, 12:00 AM No because i dont have "badminton" shoes yet. Playing with normal runners. They are like flat adidas superstar shoes. phandrew 08-22-2008, 12:42 AM So like casual/style shoes? They weren't designed for sport so still be careful eddiemon 08-22-2008, 12:59 AM So like casual/style shoes? They weren't designed for sport so still be careful Yea, I might get some sport shoes when I go to Seattle this weekend. Looking for sport shoes that look good and are good for badminton. phandrew 08-22-2008, 01:10 AM You can try looking at Yonex shoes and when you find the right size buy it from online shops because it will be much cheaper. eddiemon 08-22-2008, 01:29 AM My parents won't let me buy online though, unless I can convince them. phandrew 08-22-2008, 01:44 AM Just show them the price difference. That should convince them. DaveC 08-22-2008, 03:12 AM "Dry Clean Only" I know Lin Dan never wash his shoes !!! He throw them away :D:D Dreamzz 08-22-2008, 04:22 AM hmmm, i don't think i've ever washed my badminton shoes. i just air them after each session, and replace them when they get really torn/dirty. jhirata 08-22-2008, 04:54 AM Well not actually running shoes. They are like flat adidas superstar shoes. I used to wear by pair of Nike Dunks last year to play badminton, they had superb grip but they got really wasted after playing badminton. I'd rather keep them looking 'cool'. arthurkii 08-22-2008, 07:39 AM a word of warning, don't wash the rubber sole with soap, it ruins the grip, not sure what the reason is but after giving my yonex a complete 'snow wash' with detergent years ago, they lost all the grip, seems like the rubber hardened from the wash. phandrew 08-22-2008, 07:58 AM a word of warning, don't wash the rubber sole with soap, it ruins the grip, not sure what the reason is but after giving my yonex a complete 'snow wash' with detergent years ago, they lost all the grip, seems like the rubber hardened from the wash. Did you use cold or hot water? Cold water hardens the rubber while hot water makes it softer. eddiemon 08-22-2008, 01:40 PM Just show them the price difference. That should convince them. They think buying stuff online is not safe and that they might be scammers and get their credit card information. Any popular safe sites to buy them? phandrew 08-22-2008, 04:19 PM They think buying stuff online is not safe and that they might be scammers and get their credit card information. Any popular safe sites to buy them? I recommended Wingeebadminton before which is safe. Stinkiray 08-22-2008, 11:54 PM I know Lin Dan never wash his shoes !!! He throw them away :D:D Or maybe the company takes it back and sells them off as new ones?! eddiemon 08-23-2008, 12:10 AM Or maybe the company takes it back and sells them off as new ones?! LMFAO. Nice one. OMG someone liek you might be wearing his smelly shoes right now! lol :D h4n5ip 08-23-2008, 01:16 AM Never wash my shoes. Just wipe it with dry clothe (a bit of wet also ok). Then put them in open air after using it. N4ruto 08-27-2008, 02:56 AM Never wash my shoes. I would only brush the soles, wipe it. dukke88 08-27-2008, 11:21 PM Be careful with running shoes because you are very likely to twist your ankle with them lol exactly what happened to me:p but with basketball shoes, ankle still hurts. going to buy badminton shoes this weekend :D Phouma 08-28-2008, 12:02 AM I use a toothbrush and some soap water.. works fairly well h4n5ip 08-28-2008, 08:38 PM I use a toothbrush and some soap water.. works fairly well Tooth Brush :rolleyes: That's a good idea. Will try that latter. BUnstable 10-28-2008, 06:50 PM Is there a special way to clean the sole of the shoes because I usually put some water from the sink to clean it and after I just wipe the water with a dry cloth even if there is still water between the cracks. I do about it once a week when I play badminton. venkatesh 10-28-2008, 11:43 PM I seldom wash them because, somehow, the consistency of the rubber is destroyed. It's either it becomes softer or it looses the grip. I also use toothbrsuh to clean the dirt/small rocks stuck in between the spaces of the gum sole. drifit 10-28-2008, 11:46 PM I seldom wash them because, somehow, the consistency of the rubber is destroyed. Willi@m 11-02-2008, 12:33 PM 1/2 spoon soup powder, throw into washing machine & press 'Start'. Tumbling/Spinning is excluded. Come out as good as new. Hang Dried. flyingfox 11-02-2008, 05:23 PM 1/2 spoon soup powder, throw into washing machine & press 'Start'. Tumbling/Spinning is excluded. Come out as good as new. Hang Dried. sounds incredibly .. let me try out for a sake of "benefit of doubt" and see how it goes... No tumbling/spinning .. what about washing, rinsing? Willi@m 11-02-2008, 11:54 PM After washing to rinsing, remove the shoe right after water has flowed out before into spinning. Do not wash so often ! till unbearable only throw into machine, laces have to be removed. Hahahaha. Hand washed still the best, anyway............ flyingfox 11-03-2008, 12:05 AM After washing to rinsing, remove the shoe right after water has flowed out before into spinning. Do not wash so often ! till unbearable only throw into machine, laces have to be removed. Hahahaha. Hand washed still the best, anyway............ thought i am asking about dry clean directions... i had my YY shoes hand washed once (the only one thousand and 1 times) and which made me so remorseful of what i have done in my life... S1Driver 11-03-2008, 09:42 AM I didn't use to wash shoes but I started as I realized I never wear them more than a year. This is why cheap is better than expensive. Set the washing machine at 30-40C max. and you can wrap them in a tow if you don't want them to make too much noise inside. Removing the laces is recommended because they will have dirt marks where the holes are. Just throw them inside with the trainers. I've done it with dryer and without. They look like new and the glue seems to stay together so no hassle. The toothbrush is also top hint. I use that when I want clean and don't have time to wash and wait to dry. Willi@m 11-03-2008, 12:06 PM I guess the shoe & outsole split into two ! Very bad luck ! Use soft-middle brush is ok, were you using barb wire to scrub ?!?!? Drifit is expert in Dry Clean. He has a shop in Puchong Jaya. thought i am asking about dry clean directions... i had my YY shoes hand washed once (the only one thousand and 1 times) and which made me so remorseful of what i have done in my life... ashish2000uk 11-27-2008, 08:34 AM I use to wash my casual trainers by putting them in a pillowcase and then the washing machine, seemed to do the trick SpendorK 11-27-2008, 06:13 PM :) No, never wash my shoe. :D Gemcat 11-27-2008, 06:37 PM I wash my shoes every week to keep the outsole clean and shiny... phandrew 11-27-2008, 06:57 PM I only wash the sole to keep it clean kooixh 12-24-2008, 10:49 PM i never even let my badminton shoe touch water. |
