Hi Everyone,

Has anyone heard anything about the Brand New Carlton Airblade Titanium CFS? How does it compare to Yonex's MP-100? How does it compare to Carlton's AS-1? Thanks for the feedback!

Pete

Hm... isn't this a mid-range racquet? And as such I wouldn't compare it to either of those high-end racquets. I think I saw it in a show here in Stockholm. What do you know about it, Pete?

correction: that should be "shop", not "show", of course.

I don't know anything about this racquet except I got the info from carlton's website under "Off Court Rally-Badminton Equipment".

OK, high praise for it there... strange though, it was really cheap in that shop. About half the price of a Rasmussen, so I just assumed it was a mid-range racquet. And nobody seems to sell it, at least not on the web... weird. I'll go and check it out again and get back to you.

Waiting for your update then. Thanks!

I checked it out again in the shop I mentioned. I don't know... judging from the price (600 SEK, about 60 USD or 40 GBP) it's either low-end or a total bargain. Judging from the graphics (rather garish silver flake metallic) and overall feel, I'd say this is a budget titanium airblade. The "new flex III technology" that someone mentioned in the Carlton forum is the same flex system you find in all mid- to high-end Aerogear and Airblade racquets. It's been in use for years, so nothing new there...

Mind you, I haven't played with it, but my impression is that those guys in the Carlton forum are a tad over-enthusiastic... I am sure it is a decent piece of equipment though... after all it's a Carlton! ;-)
