View Full Version : JAPAN open 2008 DRAW!!!
george@chongwei 09-02-2008, 08:45 AM HMM..THE DRAW ARE OUT ALREADY..LEE CHONG WEI TO MEET SS IN THE QUATER AND MAYBE WILL SET UP A SEMI FINAL MEETING WITH TAUFIK...SONY DWI KUNCORO IS THE 2ND SEED IN THIS TOURNAMENT IN THE MS CATEGORY..
MEANWHILE fuzzy pair will maybe play aginst sakamoto/ikeda in the quater final...
in the ws , mas wmc will have a chance to revenge her defeat to lu lan in the OG08..when most probably they will meet against each other in the quater final..meanwhile another 1 st round exciting match will see all INA `s affiar on the WS when maria kristin yulianti will play against adriyanti firdasari in the 1st round of this tournament.
watch out for tine rasmussen too in this tournament.;)
victory 09-02-2008, 09:04 AM I can't wait to see WMC meet Lu Lan again. WMC blew it in OG, she had 9 game points but could not win the 2nd set. She has what it takes to beat Lu Lan, they are at the same level. I hope WMC beat Lu Lan and go all the way to win the title.;)
volcom 09-02-2008, 09:06 AM Worst Japan Open in years... The level is just not there
alexkho 09-02-2008, 09:14 AM well lin dan is not there??? don't want to meet up with LCW again ?

MS: Lee CW will take it, I guess.
WS: The bolded one is a possible scenario. But she must go past the OG bronze medalist first.;)
MD: I'm eager to see the match between Fuzzy pair vs the OG champ.
XD and WD: INA can claim two titles, I believe...:)
hansonlouphers 09-02-2008, 05:48 PM Dont say that lah, its "pamali".. Hehe
Umm.. No INA's affair in XD & WD rite?
Why lindan n xxf not going?
ardhitya.y 09-02-2008, 07:28 PM Quite interesting Drawing.... I hope Indonesian team do their best, esp with our new XD and WD
Indonesia Bisa...
Sandy 09-02-2008, 07:42 PM Maria vs Firda in 1st Round
Maria beat big names mostly are "Offensive" Players.
She never won against Xu Huaiwen and Wong Mew Choo.
Last time she met WMC and lost easily, she need to create some different tricks and cut the unforce error when she met WMC.
hansonlouphers 09-02-2008, 09:11 PM I'm sure Maria has her own trick :p
d65up2 09-02-2008, 09:20 PM Maria vs Firda in 1st Round

Nowadays, players can make big leaps of progress within two months.Maria shocked LL with some unknown shotmaking and her footwork's so smooth. WMC may just lose to Maria on footwork alone.WMC's footwork needs a major overhaul if she's to win another title.
CLELY 09-03-2008, 02:08 AM MS -- with the Chinese trio absence particularly Beijing Gold Medalist LD, automatically LCW is the strongest fave to win his back-to-back Japan SS title.
WS -- the most interesting line-up, almost all top-8 rank will go to Tokyo except XXF, ZN (possibly retired), Pi Hongyan.
The biggest chance for INA squad to gain success, obviously XD and probably MD. Not sure about WD, home pairs will take advantage to win here because no CHN main pairs and Beijing silver medalist Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung as heavy-weight obstacles.
limsy 09-03-2008, 02:51 AM surprisely,ws become the most heavy weight department...:(
BAM should regret didnt send more player to this tournament...

tee jing yi will have spm soon...like me...:D
AlanY 09-03-2008, 03:17 AM you two are truely unbelievable!
MS -- with the Chinese trio absence particularly Beijing Gold Medalist LD, automatically LCW is the strongest fave to win his back-to-back Japan SS title.
very good observation, but then again probably my 6 years old nephew could have came up with the same conclusion.
WS -- the most interesting line-up, almost all top-8 rank will go to Tokyo except XXF, ZN (possibly retired), Pi Hongyan.
'almost all' as in 5 out of 8, just over 60%! So, CHN has won almost all the badminton gold metals in the beijing 2008 (60%)!
The biggest chance for INA squad to gain success, obviously XD and probably MD. Not sure about WD, home pairs will take advantage to win here because no CHN main pairs and Beijing silver medalist Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung as heavy-weight obstacles.
only probably for the MD! MK/HS being the olympic champion and the world no 1 pair, shouldn't you give them a bit more credit?
surprisely,ws become the most heavy weight department...:(
heavy weight? with the olympic champion and world no 1 will give a miss!
BAM should regret didnt send more player to this tournament...

oh via FedEx Cargo?
OK what is wrong with Chong Wei Feng as he suddenly withdrawn from Taipei Open? I have read from the star (maybe) that rashid complaint about insufficient explosure of back up players...even though they didn't send any of them to JPn open

ctjcad 09-03-2008, 06:47 AM Worst Japan Open in years... The level is just not there
..what to expect coming off the excitement of the Olympics??..:p..With all the hooplas and energy being put into the OG's baddy event, it'll take a bit while before we could get the same feeling as the pre-Olympics to fall in sync; if not to re-energize the BCers, again.
Anyway, looking briefly at the list of participants, we'll be treated to a slew of matches which should show glimpses of the old veterans and lots of new & younger generations baddy stars...
Heong 09-03-2008, 08:03 AM It's good to see Peter Gade playing. He has improved significantly and I am sure he will do well this time after a good show against Lin Dan in OG.
It shows his determination. Hopefully he will meet LCW in finals, it will be a match like no other. ;)
george@chongwei 09-03-2008, 08:30 AM hmm...many japanese cuties wd pair are going to be in action in this japan open ss 2008..

Heong 09-03-2008, 08:52 AM It would be great to see Miyuki/Satoko vs Reiko/Kumiko in Quarter-finals!
The whole of Japan will be watching. ;)

That's so blatant, yet cruel of BAM!
BAM said that? It's like saying, "Hey, you won't play in this tournament. If you do, you won't go far anyway. You're suck. Big time. Get lost, loser." or anything like that?
Hopefully he can keep his spirit high.:o:cool:

Well I don't doubt MK abilities but not Firda. WMC and MK are at the same level I think but WMC has more experience. I still bet on WMC.

Tricky openers for both.
