The indo coach good too? Is he an immigrant in Canada? What about the indo female coach? Why didn't she play Singles with Rice? It should be more entertaining....

Ronny, the indonesian male coach is pretty experienced, and a good player at that. I don't know Meliuwati that well, so I can't comment on her playing skills. Still, she is the reigning Toronto Open champion...

rony is amazing, he's the most deceptive player ive ever seen, has been in high end training with taufik, widianto when he was young and on the indo national team

Is he planning to play at the Toronto Open in Jan 2009? I don't remember him playing at any provincial either! He got to show us his guts! :D:D:D

I guess a really late reply, but I was there as well. I think Anna was trying to bridge the gap between students & players, since so many talented people drop out as they get older because of school priorities. It was a good promotion of badminton in the country for sure, and she had some practical tips.

It was definitely great to watch (the singles and doubles). I think Anna was more for keeping a good game going rather than out for the kill. She's not flashy, but a very solid player from the serve to the last shot.

why would she go for a wilson sponsorship rather than a yonex one, or is she not eligible for a yonex one? I heard from some one that m. li held back on her.

well not all players have to use yonex you know, its true that the greater majority of national/international players are all sponsored by yonex but its what the player feels most comfortable using and that can always be some other brand. she should most deffinetly be eligible for a yonex sponsorship she has very impressive tournament results as well.

I heard from some one that m. li held back on her.i dont know the full story but for certain players, they like to stay with their first sponsor. If wilson have faith in her before she was famous or top ranking, maybe she want to be loyal with wilson. Anna is a good sport figure, surely wilson will and can find means to match anything yonex can offer. Some people dont jump ship just for a few dollars u know. If u look at what she is doing, she is definitely not attracted by pure money alone.

This might not be the right place to post this. So I will only post it one time and please remove it if mod feel it is not the right place.
1) Wilson has a lot more money and international exposure than Yonex in every sports except badminton. They can just sign Anna Rice with a bigger contract and better offer than Yonex.
2) Just like Cooler said, the loyalty also count.
3) I question if Lee's badminton lost it's account with Yonex CAN since they are sponsored by Wilson now and selling SP coded racquet, not CD coded.

no,your post is still on topic;)
yes, i should have said wilson is big enough to match or beat yonex's sponsorship. It is not just point ranking, if the player is a good spokeperson or in good standing in the community, he/she worth more too.
