teoky 09-12-2008, 04:16 AM Nice ! I don't mind getting this, Victor make good racquets !
Wonder if Singapore has this or not ?
-Silver- 09-12-2008, 06:14 AM Wah, another limited edition racket. But this one looks more cool than the kason one. :x
Dreamzz 09-12-2008, 07:00 AM not sure about the racquet, but the case seems good for travelling.
anyone know how much it's retailing for?
issarakaya 09-12-2008, 10:31 AM hmmm 2 color? red and gold?:D
teddbaker 09-12-2008, 03:23 PM looks good... any details in english???
teoky 09-14-2008, 07:37 AM Yes, here's the link http://www.victorsport.com/recommend_english.asp?recommend=50
teddbaker 09-14-2008, 02:31 PM where can u buy this?
teoky 09-14-2008, 07:54 PM You can buy it from China, the rest of the places, I don't think they have it yet.
I was told there's very limited quantity, only 2008 pieces world wide ?
Willi@m 09-15-2008, 01:57 PM Suggested Retail Price RM799 :eek::eek::eek:
Sealman 09-15-2008, 08:49 PM Heard from Classic Sports that the Brave Sword 08 will cost more than S$100 and the Limited Edition will cost more than S$200. Not sure when will it arrive in Singapore.
Gemcat 09-15-2008, 08:57 PM What are the technology(s) used?... I can't seem to find any specifications on any Victor racquet. So far, I've tried my friend's Victor and it feels very comfortable. And I'm planning to get 1 or 2 the next time I travel to China.

If that's the actual price for the Brave Sword 08, then it is not too bad. A SW31/32/33 cost around S$150 (approx).
I managed to find a web store in China that was selling the limited edition for RMB2000, which if you convert, is SGD418 !
As much as I like Victor and would like to get my hands on the limited edition, I don't think I will pay that kind of money. It is even more expensive than the AT700 Limited but then again, supposedly only 2008 pieces are made.
I will probably get the Brave Sword 08, if the price disparity is too great.

Which Victor racquet did you try ?
Here's a link to the techologies that Victor use http://www.victorsport.com/productlist_english.asp?id=206&class=1
And this is the latest Victor racquet map http://www.victorsport.com/productlist_english.asp?id=335&class=1
For the Brave sword, Victor put in their best technologies (according to their marketing pitch), it has super waves, slim shaft, aerodynamic frame (something new I think) and nanotec.

Thanks for the link. For the racquet I've tried. I believe it was the Artery TEC Ti95 Control... But I cannot recall, it has a light blue shaft and silver-ish and blue-ish frame.. And I've checked that many Victor racquets are blue...:p

What a coincidence ! I was just at the shop looking at it. It has a very nice metallic blue color. Actually I didn't see that many blue Victor racquet, in fact their racquet comes in all shades and colors. One color which they seem to like alot is yellow/gold, they use it on SW32, and some of the Super Nano racquets. Also, if one model has 2 different type (control and power), they tend to use blue for control and red for power.
SW33 power = Red
SW33 control = Blue
Artery Tec Ti95 control = Blue
Artery Tec Ti95 power = Red
teoky 10-20-2008, 07:03 AM I just got the only Brave Sword 08 in Singapore !
It really looks like ArcSaber 10 in terms of the color and design.
Difference between it and the 33P is that the profile of the head is not as flat, it is rounder (more aerodynamic ?) and also the shaft is slimmer.
Seems like only 3U is available in Singapore. Haven't got a chance to play with it yet, probably tomorrow or wednesday when I get a chance to play then I can feedback.
-Silver- 10-20-2008, 09:04 AM May i ask how much you bought it and where you bought it?
Smichz 10-20-2008, 12:29 PM Here in china, the market price for it is RMB2008.Interested?I myself is not attracted at all.LOL..
nanteos 10-20-2008, 02:48 PM is there anywere it can be bought over the internet??
teoky 10-20-2008, 06:31 PM Here in china, the market price for it is RMB2008.Interested?I myself is not attracted at all.LOL..
That price is for the Limited edition I believe ? I saw that price on some of the website.
It is weird as RMB2008 is definitely much more expensive than the estimated selling price in Singapore.
teoky 10-20-2008, 06:39 PM May i ask how much you bought it and where you bought it?
I thought you may be interested in this racquet since you seem to be a Victor fan. :)
Got it from Mr Soh at Classic Sports, when I collected the racquet last night, he told me that is the only piece available currently in any shop in Singapore. The Victor importer has not distributed the racquet to other shops yet. But if you are keen, you can call him and ask him to get it from the importer.
Wocdam/Sealman, where are you guys ? Thought you guys maybe keen on this.
teoky 10-20-2008, 07:17 PM BTW, I was watching the China Open Women's Double match and it seems that the Macau pair of Zhang Dan/Zhang Zhibo is using the Brave Sword 08 ! I was pausing the match and then comparing the design with the racquet I have in hand :)
nanteos 10-20-2008, 10:09 PM I'm interested in the racket but can't find anywere that sell it in the UK. Any websites that
sell them??
teoky 10-20-2008, 10:48 PM I'm interested in the racket but can't find anywere that sell it in the UK. Any websites that

So far, I have not seen them anywhere, not even in shops. If online, you need to look for them in china websites.

i believe they were using the 33p
teoky 10-21-2008, 12:50 AM i believe they were using the 33p
I have the 33P also and it doesn't look like it. When I look at the match, I can see a stretch of white on the inner frame and also at the 5 and 7'o clock position, this is exactly the design for the Brave Sword 08. I keep on pausing my hubstation when the macau ladies are serving :)
Also for the 33P, the support cap is silver color which wasn't the case with the racquets the ladies were using.
Maybe I should take picture of my new weapon and post it up.

i'll call him up and ask...
teoky 10-21-2008, 10:57 AM I just tried it and it is stiff !!!
Power is definitely there since it is 3U and head heavy.
I will try it out more tomorrow and focus on it's defence.
teoky 10-23-2008, 11:26 AM i'll call him up and ask...
You managed to get one ? If so, what is your opinion of it ?
wocdam 10-23-2008, 11:36 AM haven't called him. will pay him a visit maybe tomorrow or sunday
Hollanto 10-23-2008, 10:27 PM haven't called him. will pay him a visit maybe tomorrow or sunday
You getting Brave Sword? I was tempted to get it but still cannot find a reason to change my racket leh. My current racket still can smash and drop. Moreover now financial crisis must tighten the belt a bit.
wocdam 10-24-2008, 11:11 AM Classic managed to get one racket in this evening. I was there talking to Soh about the racket this afternoon. I should be going down tomorrow to take a look. He knows what kind of rackets I prefer, so based on his feeling of the racket that teoky bought, he told me I would probably like the racket. Great for him to get one racket straight away from his supplier for me to view. According to him, the racket is slightly heavier than SW31 overall, and could be more head heavy than the new version AT700.
teoky 10-24-2008, 07:34 PM Cool ! Can't wait for you to give your expert opinion !
Hmmm, I should try my friend's AT700 and AT700 limited to verify that the BS08 is indeed head heavy, I always thought that the AT700 especially the limited edition is one of the most head heavy racquets out there.
wocdam 10-25-2008, 12:58 AM just saw the racket. definitely head heavy, b/p shd be somewhere around 295 to 300, medium stiff likewise SW32. it will swing faster than PW11, easier on the hands than PW11. powerwise will only know after i try it out.(no time to do that today, still working) but my feeling tells me that the head heaviness will not affect defense as much as PW11.
teoky 10-25-2008, 02:02 AM Interesting feedback, as I thought that it is even stiffer than the SW31, at least according to the Victor racquet map.
So you bought it ?
wocdam 10-25-2008, 06:42 AM it definitely can't be as stiff as SW31. shaft is longer and slimmer than 31, easy to flex. this is good on the arms. anyway, i measured the b/p with strings, roughly 296~7mm. so AT700 is still head heavier.
and yah, i bought it.....
Haha84 10-25-2008, 10:06 AM how much you all spend on the racket?
sgalpha 10-25-2008, 10:56 AM Just saw the Brave Sword 40th Anniversary Limited Edition at Victor 'showroom' at Ang Mo Kio Central hawker centre this afternoon. The shop owner, Chris, told me that he only brought in 2 'boxes' direct from taiwan yesterday. Nice gold color. Price is SGD299 and he is throwing in a Victor '6 racket' bag. Sound attractive. But, I think I will pass it on as I prefer evenly balance racket. ;)
teoky 10-25-2008, 06:09 PM You like the Gold colour ? I thought it is plain, very similar to the SW32 color. I prefer the Gold color on the X2 Gold, so shiny which you can use to blind your opponent, ha ha.
teoky 10-26-2008, 03:25 AM I just came back from using the Brave Sword, one word, POWER !
It is so much easier to generate power from the Brave Sword compare to all the other racquets I have, could also be that I string it at a lower tension, 24lbs vs 26lbs for other racquets.
wocdam 10-26-2008, 11:15 AM tried out the Brave Sword today. one word - disappointing.
i've used a towel grip, hence the B/P of the racket was changed to about 288mm, making it more like even balance. i strung it with BG66 at 27lbs, and power was good. but the placement of some shots were not quite what i had anticipated. in fact, most of my shots felt numb. i believe a 3U SW33P will play better than this.
teoky 10-26-2008, 07:27 PM One thing about the Brave Sword is that the paint work seems not as sturdy as the Super Wave series.
Wocdam, guess the SW32 is still the best all round Victor racquet, offering good power and control ?
wocdam 10-26-2008, 07:36 PM i would prefer SW31. SW32 is fast, but in terms of power, it will lose out to SW31.
bobbinbette 10-26-2008, 11:49 PM just a question. how do you think this bravesword matches up to the arterytec ti-98/99 and supernano 7? (those are the only victor rackets that i have to make a comparison of)
wocdam 10-27-2008, 09:49 AM actually, i'll be better off with a artery 99
cd4se 11-03-2008, 07:46 PM Wocam...based on your inputs..you are definitely a Victor fan...is Bravesword good for double player? Is it heavier than SW31? I am thinking about trying out Victor racket ...and have more or less decided on SW31 or SW32 or Bravesword. Have been using Wilson Ktour and Npro...NPro is stiff & powerfull but very heavy ..arm and wrist get tired and injured easily. K Tour is OK but a little flex compared to NPro or AT700. So thinking of going a little stiffer than Ktour...has you tried Ktour...is BS08 heavier than SW31? You comments is appreciated.
Sealman 11-04-2008, 01:58 AM imho if you are looking a victor racquet as stiff as (or stiffer) than ktour, sw31 would suit your requirements
cd4se 11-04-2008, 06:20 PM Sealman...So in practical "feeling"..is the Victor SW31 heavier than Wilson Ktour? How does these two compared for those who has played with them before?
tecdecs 11-04-2008, 07:32 PM i used the gold brave sword its pretty nice. it was a 2U but when you held it it doesnt feel that heavy and when u play with it it doesnt feel that heavy either. its very slim frame and shaft. Feels kinda like Yonex Ti 10 3rd generation except the shaft is stiffer. but this racket i would say seems to be made with way better grade material compared to all other victor rackets.
Sealman 11-04-2008, 08:54 PM Sealman...So in practical "feeling"..is the Victor SW31 heavier than Wilson Ktour? How does these two compared for those who has played with them before?
imho both rackets are hefty sticks which i cannot handle due to my poor skills :crying:
wocdam 11-05-2008, 06:48 AM Wocam...based on your inputs..you are definitely a Victor fan...is Bravesword good for double player? Is it heavier than SW31? Now back to the question, BS08 is not my kind of doubles racket. gives up too much speed in defense. as for the weight, i would say it's roughly the same as SW31, just that the balance is different.
I haven't had the chance to try out Wilson badminton rackets (though i did try a few tennis rackets), so i can't comment on them. if you want me to recommend a Victor racket, get a SW32, but it has to be in 3U.
cd4se 11-05-2008, 06:47 PM Wodcam...from your threads so far you have been recomending SW31...why is the change of recomending from SW31 to SW32?
teoky 11-05-2008, 10:27 PM Wodcam...from your threads so far you have been recomending SW31...why is the change of recomending from SW31 to SW32?
I think it is because he was asked to recommend a racquet out of the 3 suitable for doubles and SW32 is better for that.
wocdam 11-06-2008, 05:40 AM I think it is because he was asked to recommend a racquet out of the 3 suitable for doubles and SW32 is better for that.
exactly. SW32 3U will be perfect for doubles. SW31 maybe a tad too stiff, and heavy, even if both are 3U. weight distribution for 31 and 32 not the same.
SpendorK 11-11-2008, 07:33 PM exactly. SW32 3U will be perfect for doubles. SW31 maybe a tad too stiff, and heavy, even if both are 3U. weight distribution for 31 and 32 not the same.
SW31-3U also perfect for doubles too. :)
Nice, cheap & very good racket but i don't know whether it can takes high tension (29lbs) in long run. :)
fredjiang 02-27-2009, 02:03 AM I just broke my super nano today (the original) and in need of a replacement for single games. I can't seem to find any place that sells the original super nano. Any ideas? Also after reading the posts, I kinda want to try SW31 and BS8. Any comparisons to Super Nano in terms of stiffness and balance point (for both SW31 and BS8)? Thanks. p.s. I think super nano is an awesome single racket.
GT0ro 04-27-2009, 01:10 PM anyone comparison of the BS09 and the SW33C/P? to the SW32?

I agree. But i've heard that the BS10/11 are made in taiwan!! =)

owh, is it? For so long, i thought that victor rackets are made in taiwan.:(
gpuff76 10-13-2009, 12:49 AM taiwan? no offense, but doesn't Yonex make their low-end racquets in Taiwan? How can Victor expect to compete with high-end models at such a high price point if they make them in Taiwan? hmm... doesn't make sense.
Sealman 10-13-2009, 02:35 AM I agree. But i've heard that the BS10/11 are made in taiwan!! =)
You are correct. According to the victor website, the bs10 and bs 11 are made in Taiwan.
