This seems lower than minimum advertised price for Yonex.

Anyone has ordered from this place before? Trustworthy?

That price is probably cheap in the UK but Asia sells it for $109USD.

UK customs charge tax+handling fee for anything over 20 pounds, not really a great deal if packing and shipping costs are counted in.

the minimum price I found else where are 96 pounds here.

It's a legit store, I've bought stuff from them before, although (with the exception of this case) they weren't always the cheapest.

Get them before they go quick!

But it also means they're not authorised dealer? Any chance they're selling fake or random coded rackets?

quite a few of their racquets appear to be cheaper than central sports.
i wonder if they are UK coded racquets though.

Hello,

This is newitts.com. Just wanted to confirm that we ARE an authorised dealer for Yonex. We've been selling sports equipment since 1902 and we've been online since 1998.

No offense, just asking.

What's the country code of your rackets? why is the price much lower than Yonex minimum advertised price? Grip sizes?

Well I've just taken one from our warehouse and the code on the Armortec 700 is 24107UK. Hope that answers your question. Not sure what you mean by "Yonex minimum advertised price". We buy directly from Yonex.

that's normal ..... sometimes for stock clearance reason.
dealer also can do cross-subsidy from certain batch.

as dealer, they got the rackets with Agent/Dealer/Distributor pricing which is normally lower than retail price.

Yonex, SOTX, Apacs or other brand do not care how much you should sell those rackets.

Can't say for sure with other brands but for Yonex, OF COURSE they care? Don't you know the very point having a country code on the rackets? Lets make it very simple.

There are several divisions of Yonex around the world, i.e. US, UK.....and so on. Within these countries, theses subsidiaries of the parent company in Japan are free to set there own price for that region as long as it is not too far off the mark.

Also, ALL authorised dealers within are region are bound by contractual agreement not to sell items below a certain price say 70% of RRP for example. That's how it works officially anyway. Some have been know to do deals under the table however if caught or proven, they will receive a severe repremand for it maybe even contract cancellation.

Back to the original topic, that quoted price for the AT700 is that cheap. It doesn't include any free accessories such as grips or string upgrade which has become the norm with many retailers. Who in this forum plays with factory string anyway? So, the price is reasonable at best!

Depending on who you go to for racket restringing in the UK, for Yonex strings (BG65) prices generally range between 10 -14 pounds. Some people may do it privately for a bit less than that but tend not to be as good skillwise. There is not too many in a given area who can safely string rackets upwards of 28lbs or more. Best to go to someone with a reputation i.e. currently stringing for top county or ex-internationals.

Anyway, back to the topic. So a free string upgrade is worth a minimum of 10 pounds or more depending on the string that you go for. BG80 is quite popular and on average worth between 13 to 16. A pack of overgrips or say a Karakal grip is worth 3 pounds. Therefore the total value of these "extras" is close to 20 pounds give or take a few quid.

The point is, much of what I have mentioned has become the standard. Those who don't offer it usually because:

1. There prices aren't that cheap anyway.
2. They haven't got any decent stringers.

I am sure many members of this forum will agree with this. There can be a huge gulf in standard of the quality of stringers around. To top it off, P&P has been quoted at 7 pounds again give or take a few. Depending on the packaging material used and delivery service, it may well be more. For argument's sake lets just say accessories plus P&P equals to 25 pounds.

The price advertised for this racket is 77. Plus 25 will give you 102!!!! There are a number of retailers around who would do this racket for 85 pounds, no more than 5 pounds for P&P and that is with all the goodies and trimmings! 90 pounds is not too bad is it? In fact there are even retailers where you can et the AT700 LTD Olympic Edition with all extras for 105!

For the sake of buyers in the UK, think carefully guys before handing over a wad of cash!

That is why you by online:)

I see your point but it also depends on where the buyer is based. We are all agreed that the cheapest rackets are to be found in South East Asia i.e. Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and so forth.

For myself and most other european based customers, we are looking at about 10 pounds or more for P&P. This is a good estimate again give or take a quid or two.

People must bear in mind that this is standard mail service, not air express. Most mailing companies have a minimum charge for parcels. It is only as you move up the scale in terms of weight that the cost becomes relatively cheaper.

A racket itself doesn't weigh much at all. However it requires a fair amount of packaging material to protect it especially if it is going international. Also not every retailer will offer you free string upgrade of your choice and grips. For some you have to pay extra if you go past BG65ti or higher. Others do give grips but only cheap nasty ones.

So overall, one can expect to 10-15 pounds extra, + or - a few to the actual price of the racket. This still works out to be cheaper than standard UK prices but with so many retailers now offering good deals privately, it is not always the case worth ordering online from abroad.
