.
Hope that many BC players could attend the 2009 Sydney World Masters Games.
You don't have to be a professional Badminton player to participate in it.
But you have to be old enough to fit into the Age Categories. :):):)

.
ctjcad ... Because of my coaching and CCC activities/commitments in Melbourne, there is little chance for me to participate in the 2009 Sydney World Masters Games. :o:o:o
Even for the 2002 World Masters Games held in Melbourne, I couldn't make it.
Serving Badminton players in Melbourne is my priority. Therefore, I don't think that I would be participating in the 2009 Sydney World Masters Games.
Anyway, if you can make it, let me know. I might be able to link you up with some Australian players participating there.
Cheers... chris-ccc

CLELY 10-26-2008, 11:35 PM Based on BWF calendar, as usual all five GP Gold tourneys will be concentrated in Asian region with PHI Open still needs further confirmation whether it will be cancelled or not. June, September to November are busy months, hectic schedule. Overall, there's no major differences with this year calendar except BWF events of course.

Why call it KLRC if played in Canada?
jhirata 11-17-2008, 07:52 PM Why call it KLRC if played in Canada?
The club is based in Kuala Lumpur, and it sponsors alot of tournaments.. therefore the tournaments get named after it.
Just like the Singapore "AVIVA" Open. It's sponsored by the company named AVIVA.
jhirata 11-17-2008, 07:54 PM No World-Junior-Championships this year ?

To me, it is great to have KLRC(from Malaysia) sponsoring Badminton tournaments away from Malaysia.
I hope that more clubs from stronger Badminton playing nations like China, Denmark, Indonesia, Korea, etc... could do the same.

ctjcad 04-20-2009, 11:46 AM ..regarding the upcoming U.S. Open, yes, it will have $80,000 prize money indeed. As to whether why they classify it as a GP Gold, that i don't know.
Btw, word has it that Japanese players (and another foreign group of players) might be invading the OCBC hall for the U.S. Open.
