I have a AT900Tec, which is head heavy, and a NS6000, which is head light. Is it bad to switch between heavy and light head racquets too often?
(Off topic: I'm an intermediate player. My smashes aren't strong but I'm really accurate with drops and shorts. I want to get some new strings for the two racquets mentioned above. Any suggestions?)

You timing for shots will be affected. Why do you change between these 2 rackets?

The question is, why do you have two absolutely different racquets ?
AT900T: Head-heavy, stiff shaft.
NS6K: Very head-light, flexible shaft.

Well....I switch my NS8000 and Arc10 every hour. And, they are two completely opposing rackets (not in terms of flexibility). Because I like to change style of playing and would also like to practice various techniques, I change them. By the way, both of them use different string and tension.
But to the point, if you arm (either left or right or BOTH!) is strong at first, use a smash-ready racket. Then if your arms is starting to feel stiff, change to a defense-ready racket.
Hope that helps and not misleading.

Hi,
I used to switch rackets after every game. Use to carry about four rackets in my bag. uses Arc saber 10 n then switch to At 900T and then Woven 13 or NS 9000X. I dont find any problem of adapting to these changes. My main purpose is to use these rackets now n then,so that the tension lost is not so drastic.:pHowever,I have not use one head-heavy racket n then switch to a headlight racket. Might feel pretty aweward for such a dractic change.;)

I think switching racket is not a bad thing, but depending how often and what reason. I use a 2U even balance racket. If I'm feeling the racket doesn't have enough power, I'll switch to a head heavy one. If I'm playing double against a strong player, I'll switch to a 3U racket. If it's a attacking player, even to a 3U head light racket for better defense. But normally, I'll stick to the 2U even balance racket.
I do agree playing with the same racket will enhance the feel for it and you can play better with that racket on a long term. So if you're asking if it's bad to switch TOO MUCH, I'll say yes. But it's not a bad thing to switch if you can really play better with another racket or if you don't feel any difference.

I switch around between 2 3U AT700s and a 4U AT900T. I get a few problems with timing when switching from the AT700 to the 900T, but switching back is fine.

I also switch racquets regularly especially when I am tired, I will switch to a lighter, more flexy racquet as my swing slows down and using a stiff and head heavy racquet is very tiring.
No problems switching back and forth between the racquets except my control shots takes a hit and won't be as sharp.
