Very true. Indonesia has maintained its edge in MD since the 60s, whereas Malaysia is struggle to hold good form, much of our spirit was lost and has yet to be regained.

Nonetheless, we continue to fight on (on court and in forum) .....

Indeed...our MDs create upsets after upsets in Japan 2008.

Considering that there's only a quota of max 3 pairs for the next Olympics, its gonna be a headache if we do have 4-5 pairs in the top 10 by 2012.

I think Bona/Ahsan are showing promises with their recent showings (QF finishes in GP Golds and SS, and now SF in Japan SS). Rian/Yoke also reach their first SS SF by beating the World and Olympics Champions....that's really a good performance by them today.

I won't be losing sleep over Kido/Hendra's loss today...they are probably rusty...after the celebrations over the past mth. They should be back to form next week...hopefully with another title in China ;)

However, time's up for AG/Joko. The warning bells have been sounded and they are the worst performing MD so far. Get the knife out....

Sandy, trust me on this, it is not about the training. The training possibly matches the best training Indonesia can have or better. Funding is definitely better.

It is about having the right spirit and mental preparation to succeed. Our best players come short on that, our not so highly ranked players have the right spirit but lack technical abililty. Indonesia has the edge on this because at every level (even for day to day living), the people struggle more and thus their mental ability against adversity is much better.
