lee chong wei will be skipping this tournament and i believe many top players will skip this tourney too..
anyone can list the name out?:confused:

Why not they just cancel the whole tournament, and have CHN only host one leg of the Super Series?

The calendar is just too packed as it is. Last year the CM was in July.

China held 2 Super Series events a year,the 2nd China SS will b held in Decmbr 2008, what is the differences ???What rank is used to definite the seeded player?? Super Series rank or World rank ??? coz both are different

Off-topic : China Open 2008 will be held on 18-23 November, not December. No basic difference between China Masters and China Open except title-sponsor and venue/location. Just for info, China Masters is quite new badminton tournament in BWF calendar, its inaugural event was 2005. Meanwhile China Open had been established since 1980's.

Seeding position is determined by World Ranking. SS rank is only used to determine Super Series Grand Final participant (only top-8 of each disclipine will be qualified to participate it).

We can say that China Open is for 650 million people, and China Masters is for another 650 million people. Both China tournaments are separated by geography, usually one in the north and one in the south. Table tennis is also similar.

I feel bad for this tournament....

Think on the positive side, may be our favourite Taufik will finally win SS title since ... :D
Really sad as so many top guns chose not to come.

I think Chen Jin has a much much better chance to win china master if he does not lose to his teammates....

i cant speak for LCW but if u go visit 'pics of LD and XXF' thread, u will know why LD and XXF withdraw from JO, CM, Macau Open, etc.
Scare of SDK:confused:LOLOL
JO, Taipei open, CM, Macau open are all easy money for LD and XXF but they rather skip those to give thanksgiving to his fans and supporters at home.
