View Full Version : Got a YY Ti-10, (first gen?) very solid feel

Honestly, I cannot tell whether it's first gen or second.
However, the yonex logo at T-joint seems a bit doggy.
It seems to be clipped on.
Besides, the length of the racket seems shorter than my at700, although according to advertisement, they should be the same.
My personal opinion is that, it's not as easy to use as at700. Not so head heavy (290mm) (at700 307mm), but overall heavy. They're both 3u, yet at seems lighter.
any opinions?

that color scheme belongs to 1st gen ti10. Is it genuine? where you bought it?

The design is a 1st generation Ti10. However, the fonts used for the wording is different from mine though mine is TH specs but there shouldn't be any difference.
Also the wording on the shaft, it is wavy and the Ti word at the 3'o clock position should have a shadow to it.

I got it from a friend. It's sp coded.
whether it's genuine is the question I posed here :o
It feels genuine, but I haven't got an racket as early as this, so cannot compare.

If you want some photos for comparison... http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56350
It's counterfeit.
For the genuine Ti-10s first gen, there were two different lengths. The long which is known as Ti-10 and the short one as the Ti-10R.

Looks like a counterfeit. Like mentioned, the letter font and size, the Ti mesh and the T-joint logo are dead giveaways. Also, the silver paint looks a little yellowish (bronzish) compared to the original.
But if you like the response of the racquet, enjoy it! As long as you haven't spent a fortune on that.

From the wording of the shaft n cone numbers, i think it's a counterfeit. the original wording of yonex shud be like tis...

The SP font looks weird as well.Well...no doubt that it's a fake. The first thing that's easy to notice is the ti-mesh.Looks like it's printed/sticker,while the genuine one has the titanium net.

It's FREE. :) nothing to complain about. My friend isn't an expert, she doesn't even recognise the brand yy, and gave it to me immediately when I said ti-10 is a good stiff offensive racket.
and Yes, I did like the response. very solid. a little bit too heavy.
Gathered from all the responses, this is my first FAKE racket! :D
(can use it in doubles to kill real ones, ....... just kidding)

I wonder what your response will be when you compare the real deal with the fake one you have! :D

i'll stick with my 700 then.
would like to try a real ti-10 (1st) though, see what the fuss is all about.

I think Ti10 is famous due to the fact the top speed for smash recorded was using the Ti10.
Also, it is not an easy racquet to use compare to other models from Yonex and that probably add to it's desire factor.

Ti10 was popular even before Fu Haifeng was as popular and long before he executed that smash!
I agree it is a difficult racquet to get used to. That is why people mostly either love it or not. There is no in between.

This racket needs time to get used to! But once you get used to it, this is an amazing racket. My backup racket used to be an AT700, but now it's Ti10 all the way....!

Great Job Smichz!!! For a minute, I thought all pics seem to be legitimate, until you pointed out the real obvious one, the Ti Mesh. Sorry to say it, but definitely a fake.

Haha...Your 4 not enough for you Smichz? When was this thing first manufactured anyway? The earliest I had on the shaft/cone was 2546413 100402SP, you got one manufactured in 1999? My...that was a old one! Does yours scrap easily? Mine had a few big clashes but not a scratch. I wonder why some people say the paint scratch easily. Could it be from batches produced after 2000? Any clue?

Man,mine were 3 strung n urs r 6 unstrung. How can we even compare them?..No,i still wanna have ur unstrung ones.:DHow many of them left?Well..urs r only one year older than mine.No biggie.So,2 for me,2 for issarakaya.I don't think he even needed one, since he can get it easily if he wanted to.Just a phone call away. So,i guess he just wanna make fun of us.:D..so,4 for me!:D
Well..just the small chips around the racket. Not as big as what i've found on the newer rackets.Once it clashed, the black graphite can be seen clearly. While on old ti10,i didn't find any sign of the black graphite seen.Just paint chip dots around the frame. The muscle power frame letters might have gone loosing, but still the paint looks good.

according to my experience who ever had all of all ti 10
from year 99-2004, I ever had 9 in total but right now i only have 2
1:1999
1:2000
1:2001
2:2002
4:2004
my opinion it is fake cause:
1.there is no old ti10 that shiny, its too shiny for for real one cause ti 10 old and ti swing power doesnt have vernish sparayed in the surface / doesnt varnished like armortec, nanospeed or arc saber maybe there is a vernish, but not to shiny like your pics
2.ti mesh look fake cause it is to smooth
3.titanium 10 red font to light should be dark red
4. i ever hold fake ti 10 in indo and looks like this picture
5.the long font swirl
sorry to tell u this sad news bro :crying:
