In doubles dept, Msia will only be represented by KKK/TBH, Fuzzy pair, WPT/CEH. They are withdrawn from both Denmark & French SS, according to Utusan M, due to budget constraints. For Razif/Wee Kiong, addition reason is they have participated in 3 straight tourneys recently, Rexy wants them to take a tourney break & hone their skills for China & HK SS. All juniors must proove themselves in GP Gold before Going for SS... Take CWF as example...;) Lydia Cheah & Julia Wong are runner-ups of GP Gold recently but they're not sent either. Their getting runner up without top players is not the issue, it's not their fault those players decided to withdraw, same as we cant look at Zhou Mi winning those titles as "top players not there". This is considered a break-thru in our WS, since bf this pretty hard for them even to get into semis. Lydia is low in WR, but Julia should be able to get into main draw. Budget constraint is the official reason as stated in Utusan. And seniors over juniors, sthing that Rashid has complained abt before. Nah...draw in WS is tough. Chance is that Sony Dwi Kuncoro should have a realistic go at another SS title, given that only Kenneth Jonassen, Peter Gade or Chen Jin in his half. The last 2 players will fight one-another in the QF, while Sony will face Kenneth. Sony's first two opponents will be Kenichi Tago and either Ng Wei or Chetan Anand. Simon Santoso has an even better chance of reaching the Final, with Premyslaw Wacha and Petr Koukal as the first two opponents. His QF opponent shouldl be the winner between Arvind Bhat and Mohf Hafiz Hashim. His SF opponent should be either Joachim Persson or Wong Choong Hann. In the XD, since the 3 top INA pairs withdrew, Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita are our best hopes. They have a tough first round draw against Joachim Fischer-Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen. In the MD, it should be an open field. It will be a tremendous achievement if Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan can win this title. But, tough matches start from R32 where they will face Anthony Clark/Nathan Robertson. Somehow, Kido/Hendra don't really like to face Anthony Clark, having lost to him and Blair a number of times. Dangerous MAS opponents like Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif and Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong should be their opponents in the QF and SF. A Final match against Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen or the in-form Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen (having won 3 titles in the past weeks) is always possible. huangkwokhau 10-16-2008, 12:04 AM or Wong Choong Hann. With Rijal/Vita withdrawing and no more players in the Qualification List (all have been promoted), they have a free-ride to R16 and if they face Devin/Lita, they should progress to QF where they could face a tough match against Anthony Clark/Donna Kellogg [4], then possibly David Lindley/Suzanne Rayappan [7] in the SF and Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl [3] in the Final. limsy 10-16-2008, 12:16 AM Dangerous MAS opponents like Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif should be their opponents in the QF I WILL not surprise if they lose in 1st round.... Sandy 10-16-2008, 12:44 AM After some Seeded players withdrew, why BWF don't hold Re-Drawing.
