View Full Version : I noticed some minor differences between my 2 rackets!
I got an old Isometric Power 200 and yesterday I bought a Ti Swing Power SX. What I have noticed is that the Iso power 200 I bought in H.K(long time ago) has a flashy Yonex sticker on the top cap of the handle and a logo saying PBSI on the other side whereas the Ti SP SX one I bought in UK only has a serial number printed on it. Can anyone explain this?
It doesn't really bother me but just feel the one with a shinny sticker, has higher quality and also feel like a "real original Yonex" racket!!
The other thing I've also noticed is the trademark of Yonex which has been changed slightly! The old Yonex trademark has broken triangles but the new one has full solid triangles! If you see the pics I attached, you'll know what i mean!
P.S I don't know how to attach several pics so I did it seperately.

To me, the TiSP seems real. But I don't have the confidence to say that the Iso200 is real because I am not familiar with old racquets. I have that hologram Yonex sticker too, on my fake Iso300 racquet though.
so how can I tell if my racket is fake? I mean the Iso power 200 i got , came with proper case and I found the finish on the racket looks better than my new Ti SP SX..............I don't know

I am not going to say whether the racquets are authentic or not without the benefit of examining both.
The logo on the ISO 200 is an old one whereas the logo on the Ti SP is the new logo (don't ask me when the switch happened). The PBSI logo was used to indicate that the racquet was officially used by members of the Indonesian National team. The hologram sticker on the ISO 200 was an initial attempt by Yonex to deter counterfeiters (didn't work later on). The serial number is on the Ti SP is an attempt by Yonex to identify their distribution market. For example, on your racquet, you have the UK suffix which means that the racquet was destine for the UK and if you bought it in the UK, the warranty is covered by Yonex UK.
As for deciding whether a Yonex racquet is fake or not, check out some of the threads on the subject. Paint job might not be as crisp as an original. Wordings on racquet might not be quite right (e.g. Yonex might have "POWER AND CONTROL", fake one might have "POWER ANO CONTROL"). The grommets on the fake racquet might not be as good a quality (check to see that the end of grommets are clean-cut not snipped). These are just some indications.
BTW, Voda, you need to post some of your queries in the right forum (e.g. How do attach multiple images) ;)

WWC read my mind.:D
And I'm also too lazy to type everything out again.:p
Oh yeah! I thought all SP racquets had PBSI logos on it.
There is a test i heard of, which you can perform on your Yonex racket to check whether it is real or not.
It should work as follows :
Take the top of te frame in one hand, hold your flat palm of your other hand against te bottom of the handle in the other hand and start squeezing your racket by pushing your hands towards eachother. With the hand on top of the frame, you make twisting moves (keep squeezing), to test whether you experience torsion in your racket.
If you feel torsion with ease, this is no good, you have a fake one!
As you will feel no or very little torsion with real yonex rackets, you are one step closer to admit your racket is real !
Of course, i do not take any responsibilty if you squeeze your expensive racket to scrap :D
Mate,
There are 2 ways of saying whether ur Old Symbol racket is orginal or not!First is Peel ur Yonex HOLOGRAM sticker form the cone and try to see whether it has a Number followed by a bigger number.
Something like 2478 and 4 in bigger font. The 4 or 3 or 2 is supposed to be GRIP size. The Serial number is the number of the racket.
Second is if u strip the racket to the Wooden handle then u can see a sticker on the Handle which will very clearly say Iso 200 and Grip size. if u have both of these then Ur racket is orginal.
So best of luck. I think ur should be orginal. And hey do u care? U have it and u love it and it has holded itself for a while. so why bother? Curiosity is DEVIL!
Have fun. Happy smashing!
