badMania 11-03-2008, 06:23 PM I don't think interests on this tourney will be high. At least I would have 1 week of rest :D Next week's NZ Open is quite relaxing as well since only a few INA players are involved.

More distribution of wealth for non-Asian players is good for badminton worldwide... ;) I see this as a good thing... :D Let the Eastern Europeans prosper in badminton... We will then see them clamoring for the Olympics to still be included in the Olympics [forever]... ;) A good thing for Badminton [overall]...
The Asians want to save their money for tournaments within the Asian continent this time... The US$ exchange rate is killing most of our Asian currencies... :o Ticket prices to Moscow are just too high for a single GP level tournament...
CLELY 11-03-2008, 10:27 PM Today's qualification will stage MS, WS, XD matches between local players and small number of Ukrainian shuttlers. This GP tourney is full of lesser known names with Dicky Palyama and Pi Hongyan as MS and WS top-seed respectively.

So surprised that he has been given so little time to rest. :o:o:o

robin7 11-08-2008, 03:50 AM Local hope Ella Diehl beat Petya Nedelcheva 21-19 ; 21-9.
Almost everyone PAW-ed on Petya. I suspect Petya injured towards end of 1st game...
Sasho 11-08-2008, 01:02 PM Petya didn't make it to the final on WS, but will play final on WD... Great, after all :)
Sasho 11-08-2008, 01:43 PM :(
About the semi-final WS:
It is 18:15 for Petya, when she splits/tears thigh muscle on her racket leg... 7-10 days for recovery. Despite that, she and her partner won the WD semifinal and tomorrow they are playing on the final.
CLELY 11-08-2008, 06:41 PM Home players dominate today's finale of Russian GP which will be started on 10.00am :
MD -- Vitalij Durkin/Alexandr Nikolaenko >< Vladimir Ivanov/Ivan Sozonov (all-RUS-Final)
MS -- Dicky Palyama (NED) >< Stanislav Pukhov (RUS)
WD -- Valeri Sorokina/Nina Vislova (RUS) >< Petya Nedelcheva/Dimitria Popstoykova (BUL)
WS -- Larisa Griga (UKR) >< Ella Diehl (RUS)
XD -- Alexandr Nikolaenko/Valeri Sorokina >< Vitalij Durkin/Nina Vislova (all-RUS-Final)
Angel-a 11-09-2008, 02:43 AM Nice to see that Dicky won something ;). The only dutch guy in the tournament. Now let's hope Larisa Griga wins as well (used to play in Holland at the same club as Dicky) and the Bulgarian pair ;).
robin7 11-09-2008, 03:23 AM WD -- Valeri Sorokina/Nina Vislova (RUS) >< Petya Nedelcheva/Dimitria Popstoykova (BUL)
It seems like a walkover in this match.
