Is there a good court close (like, really close) to the Sultan Hotel?
Also, do people play in the morning, say, from 6am to 8am?
If not, how about in the evening, say, from 8pm to 11pm? :)
The hotel has an abundance of tennis courts but (surprisingly in Indonesia) it doesn't have one for badminton! :o

I wonder if the forum is temporarily unavailable in Indonesia

I think ... Had a little peek there visiting one of the shops in the INA shop list somewhere in the market place section. Should be across the road behind the convention center. But I'm sure others will be able to tell more about it ...
Same street as Senayan City

Yes, I'm scheduled to be in Jakarta in a few days from now.
It's, um, work-related... and, so, I'm packing only two racquets :D

The nearest badminton courts to Sultan Hotel, is Istora Senayan or The courts near Mulia Hotel at jl. Asia Afrika. I used to play baddy near Mulia Hotel, every saturday. I tried to put the map..but failed..maybe the size is too big

That's the one ... ;)
yeah, there are a few courts nearby, near Hotel Mulia there is one. There is another one near Senayan which my colleague is playing with his son but I heard that it is not that good(but it is cheap)
I don't know anyone playing in the weekday morning except Sunday morning, 6.30am-8.30am at Jelambar(west Jakarta). Night time usually the time when most people playing

I played with Simon and a few others a few times there but not regularly. I am playing 9am - 1pm at Ancol on Sundays.

Simon santoso? wow....
Simon santoso? wow....
nope, not simon santoso. This Simon is well-known in that court because he often play in other courts or invite other player to play together

Anyway, I'm packing my optimism and two racquets.
Now all I need is a court and players near the hotel :(
I think you should get in touch with Krisna. He might be able to help you with the arrangements.

Well, I don't want to bother anyone :)
What I want is a location and directions.

The hotel has an abundance of tennis courts but (surprisingly in Indonesia) it doesn't have one for badminton! :o
The Owner was ex INA Tennis Association, so some Tennis Challenger or Satellite was held in there. Badminton is needed indoor court while tennis could played outdoor.
The closest badminton is Istora, then Tennis Indoor or Badminton Hall near Mulia Hotel. Some badminton event has been held in these places.

I've been here a day... but no success :o
Everyone I am now interacting with plays either golf or tennis.
And I thought Indonesia was the popular home of badminton!

Found a nifty place right next to the Mulia Hotel :)
It's around IDR 25,000 by taxi but it's sure worth it.
The courts are part of the Senayan Halls.
A tournament is now on in one of the halls.
Another one has regular players and games.
I guess this was the 'Play-All-You-Want' evening! :D
Shuttles, playing fees, drinks... all for around IDR 60,000.
It's been raining heavily in Jakarta and, not surprisingly, the hall's old roof has a few leaks here and there... but they aren't bad enough to hold up play.
The most surprising thing is that players smoke while waiting their turn.
Not outside the hall - but inside... right next to the courts!
The games are played in a light haze - and a light daze too, perhaps ;)
It's been a good find... and I'm going back every evening until I leave :p

I did see quite a lot of fake Yonex racquets... and also a few brands that I never knew existed!
Shuttles come in a great variety of names - and they are cheap too.
Obviously that also means their quality leaves much to be desired.
One heavy make also helped me snap my newly strung racquet :o
The best part was buying a new tube of Yonex shuttles - they were all used shuttles! I promptly asked the chap to return my IDR 120,000 :)
In the end, I used the shuttles I'd brought with me.
All said and done, I did find a bargain too - on wristbands.
I now have quite a number of utilitarian wristbands, which also pass quite convincingly for 'Nike' :D

Lol yes... A lot of Indonesian people don't buy real deal... They're way out of budget :D. Even Apacs xD... That's why the odds of Apacs Fake to lurk is high. (In here). But yes there are many recreational who buy those real deal hoping they could control them --;... Anyway, why don't you pay a visit to Surabaya xD...
Yonex shuttle... Never know where to buy those shuttles :D:D:D... I've got my Mavis500 from Singapore... Got them for training :D:D:D...

We weren't playing with synthetics.
I was referring to feather shuttles :)
