Hi everyone,

This might be of interest to some: The University of Waterloo Badminton Club (UWBC) will be having its tri-annual Survival of the Fittest tournament on Nov. 7th and Nov. 8th. Official tournament details have been posted below.

UW Badminton Club Presents the Survival of the Fittest Tournament for Fall 2008

Everyone is invited to compete in the Tri-annual Survival of the Fittest Tournament that is to be hosted at the University of Waterloo.

Online Registration will begin Friday, October 24th at 8:00pm on the club's website, http://badmintonclub.uwaterloo.ca/. Full tournament rules will be posted at this time as well. Sign up early to avoid disappointment!

Tournament Dates and Times:
Friday, November 7, 2008 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm (Singles)
Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 9:00am to 4:00pm (Doubles)

Sign-In Dates and Times:
Men's Singles: Friday, November 7, 6:30pm - 6:50pm
Ladies' Singles: Saturday, November 8, 6:30pm - 6:50pm
Mixed Doubles: Saturday, November 8, 9:00am - 9:20am
Ladies' Doubles: Saturday, November 8, 9:30am - 9:50am
Men's Doubles: Saturday, November 8, 11:00am - 11:20am

Fee:
UW Badminton Club Members: $5 for any number of events
Non-Members: $10 for 1 event, $15 for 2 or 3 events

Location:
Columbia Ice Fields (CIF), University of Waterloo

Draw:
Limited to 12 teams for Men's Singles
Limited to 8 teams for Ladies' Singles and Ladies' Doubles
Limited to 16 teams for Mixed Doubles
Limited to 20 teams for Men's Doubles

Format:
A2 (double elimination, single draw)

Shuttles:
- Yonex Mavis 300
- Black Knight Feather Birdies will be available for semi-final and final matches if both teams agree to using them

Prizes:
- Medals and prizes will be provided to winners and finalists.
- All participants will have a 1 in 3 chance of winning draw prizes

Food:
Pizza, vegetables, bananas, and drinks will be provided on Saturday only

Hi again,

Sorry, there's been one correction to the details:

The sign-in date and time for Ladies' Singles is on Friday, November 7, from 6:30pm - 6:50pm, NOT on Saturday.
