I was just reading the post under "Places to Play" where someone was asking about where to play in Washington DC, and a crazy thought came to me.

President Bush recently had a White House 3-mile race with his staff. He didn't win, but apparently he's in pretty good shape--probably better than Clinton. Many past US Presidents have had their favorite sports--Eisenhower played golf all the time, Nixon had bowling lanes set up in the White House, and Carter was also a runner. WHAT IF G. W. Bush played badminton, and had a gym built on the White House grounds? He could invite media members, White House staff, members of congress, etc. to a tournament. Maybe even get visiting officials from other countries (e.g., China) to play. They would call it "Shuttlecock Diplomacy." It would increase public awareness of badminton.:D

Nutty indeed!

GW isn't that old, but i think if GW plays with those old men from China, they may not be able to hold up. it would certainly be very bad diplomacy if any of their hearts gives up in the middle of the game.

but yes, if GW does play badminton, it will probably be the best publicity badminton will ever see. :)

Hahahah...
This I gotta see.

Bush running around with a badminton racquet (Winex, of course ;) ) trying to smash kill the birdie right at Osama Bin Laden.

Osama might have a height advantage, eh?

It's a sign of being cool, having everything under control--to inspire confidence.

When the US launched its attack on Iraq, daddy George Bush went to Camp David for a holiday.

Sorry. I need to remember that in a group as diverse as this, spread around the globe, it can be so easy to cause offense. None intended.:o
