personal preference, i like the 100's best cause of the honeycomb grip at the bottom. if im not mistaked the 90's are being replaced buy the 91's which also have the honeycomb grip on the bottom. im sure you can still easily find 90's around though.

all three are ok. good grip, stable and comfortable. the only thing i didn't like is it's durability. average lifespan is about 9 months.

Should I buy another pair of shoes for Badminton? Any ideas?

SHB-99LTD last the longest ! Outsole Rubber Comfort also good.
SHB-100 comfort for inner feet is good due to Round Sole, fits the foot naturally.

What about SHB-100 durability? I'm playing 3 times in week, and (2?)tournaments in month. How long will they be in use?

If rely on this, the only pair (100) for all the sessions you've mentioned. Shoe would wear out in 1 year (4th-5th month would show signs of wearing). 99 would last longer. To prolong shoe's life, alternate with another pair (if no budget restrain) weekly.

I think if you play this much (although there are people who play more) and enter tournaments, having at least two pairs of shoes would be ideal. Its the same idea as having several of the same racquets with identical strings. What would happen if your shoes broke during a game?

I hope this wouldn't happen to me.

I'm not so rich to buy two pairs of yonex SHB-100. This cost too much ;(

1 pair of 100's should last you quite a while as long as nothing bad happens to the shoe itsef like tears, rips or like really major damage to the shoes. currently im wearing the normal 100's and i train 5-6 days a week from 2-3 hours each time and i find there lasting really well i just bought them end of august to replace the last pair or normal 100's that i had and those lasted me almost a year. well im sure the new ones will last me till may or june if not longer but personally i like to change my shoes atleast once a year if i can since i know it can be expensive for sure to but if i cant then thats fine too just got to make sure to take real good care of my shoes.
the 99's and everything i use to have the limiteds and i find they ware out just as fast if not a little faster cause of the silver coating on the shoe as well i didnt like the grip at the bottom cause i found that wore out really fast within a few months it was just bad.

strings breakage can be happened twice per session. Anything could happen.

I agree. Like I said, it would be ideal to have two pairs. If not, just get a pair of 100MX and see how they do. I know the 100MX is more durable than the 99MX so they should last for quite a bit longer.

I Just bought the SHB - 100 MX Limited Edition, $149 Canadian. It was a really hard choice between the Limited Edition and just the regular 100's. The differences were: 1. The LTD's are lighter than the regulars. 2. The LTD's have a thinner tounge with large holes for ventilation, rather than a well-padded tounge 3. The LTD's have a stock insole with a really cool raised, bumpy "wave" pattern. 4. Not to be shallow, but the gold looks really cool. The regulars had more padding and were more comfortable, but these are badminton shoes, not house slippers.

SHB-100LTD FTW!!!...the shoe tongue is much more comfortable on the feet than the ones on the regular 100MX. It makes your feet feel fully supported and I've been using it for 3 months now and there are no signs of wear besides maybe my stinky feet??:S

My red colour SHB-99LTD lasted for almost 3 years. I am also hunting for a new shoe now. I last checked SHB-100LTD at a local shop here and they offered BND120 (USD84). I hope it can last as long as my previous shoe. ~~~~

Well, I highly recommend the LTD's, and 84USD is a good price, as I paid 147CND. Now I feel slightly ripped off, but the shoes are preety much worth any price. I've always said that a player's shoes are by far the most important piece of eqipment he can own, and these shoes only fortify my conviction. Again, the SHB-100 LTD edititions come highly recommended. I should note that I have the 2007 model that is just "gold" and not "dragon gold." The 2007s have no red whatsoever. I do not know if there are physical differences between the 2007 and 2008 LTDs.

Is it true that high end Yonex shoes wouldn't wear out easily? especially the front part of the shoes will open?

I've never had any problems with stitching, if that's what you mean. I do find that the gum soles become hard after a while. The constant pounding hardens the rubber and causes it to lose grip. Depending on on how often you play and how much you depend on your shoes, it may take 6 months, 2 years, or ten years before noticing any difference. I would estimate that I got about 1000 hours out of my last pair before buying new ones, but it was more that my feet grew than anything else. I do find the newer models to have more lateral room in the toe than previous yonex shoes. The new shoes are easier to cinch up - I have extremely narrow feet - I had to bottom out the laces on my old shoes to get them to feel proper.

The outside stitching on the right shoe had problems on my 99MX but paid a few dollars and got them fixed so now I alternate between my 99s and 100s

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I don;t wish to create more thread for my question =)
I am looking for a badminton shoes with good ankle support. I had injured my ankle before and I don't wish to have more injuries to my ankle. Is there any shoes you guys can help to recommend? If I had to choose between weight of shoes and ankle support I would choose ankle support. Thanks

U meant ankle guard or something like that? I have 1 already, will that be adequate to protect my ankle? If it is, then I can just go and buy any good shoes out there? Going to get my bonus soon then can spend. =P

demon85,
Yes, they do give some support. I have been saved a few times by the ankle guard. Unfortunately, the last twisted ankle (3 weeks ago) still happened with the ankle guard. So I'd say it gives some protection but is not bullet-proof.

I got the offer from Seria Plaza Asmin Enterprise.
I went to Centrepoint, Gadong 1st Floor Krisma (Owned by Istana's Indonesian Coach) and the offer I got was BND130 for SHB-100LTD. I ended up buying a pair of Mizuno shoes and I am starting to like my Mizuno shoes now. I got the Mizuno shoe for BND72 from Mufakat, Kiulap with a pair of Yonex socks for free (the ergonomic type).

Yonex shoes not lasting? I had one SHB-99LTD (red colour) and it lasted 3 years. The first sign of breaking is the sides. I think it is very lasting.
However, there are lots of counterfeit Yonex products here and they are called "Grade A" stuff. "A" I guess to make it sound better.
But...I kept changing the inside soles because of the holes esp on the big toe area.

I also tend to get holes in the big toe area. Other than that, yonex shoes are great.
