Friday - Possiblity... if I can get a ride I'll go for sure.. if I can't I'll think about taking bus there.. we're gonna play the $2 one rite? From 6:30-8:30 I think... the adult only one is $5 and that goes from 8:30 to 10:30 (?) ... and if I end up taking bus I don't wanna leave at 10:30.. cause I don't think that many buses go by that late = long bus wait.......

Saturday - They have badminton on Sat too?? Might be able to make it if they do..

Sunday - Let's stick to the "free" place... :D

I went on Wednesday to Rosemount and was sent back out because they were up to capacity for the night. They would only allow 64 people to play on the 8 courts. What a bummer. :( The worse thing is after I left 3 more people went in and they got accepted. They rather favour club members or his friends. Guess I have to arrive 15 minutes earlier to get a spot. I'll try this Sunday at 7:00-10:00.

I'll play from 4pm-7pm this Sunday. Is it crowded there from 4-7? I'd hate it if they sent me away. My friends want to try Rosemount.

Tammy ... 4-7 only ??? :P I think I might go for 4-10:30 .... I'm under 16 so $2 for each time session... 4-7 7-10:30 .... $4 for 6.5 hours! :P Problem is i mite not last that long... hrm.. I'll see how tired i get after 3 hours...


OH yea.. Shaun is out... he's working.. um.... zero doesn't wanna go cause he can't figure out where it is..... ! Aero is too lazy to take a bus but I'm doing my best job convincing.. he mite go for the 4-7 he said.... I msged someone else but they didn't reply yet..


Chu Pa.. can you please describe whats around Rosemount?? Is rosemount reconizeable.. like... you can't miss it sorta thing? Any stores/malls/buildings beside/near it ??

Leave me a spot to play on Sunday. :) If Tammy brings 3 plus herself and TDot and maybe a few more then Rosemount will be up to capacity again. :) If your coming from the south and traveling on Bathurst, Rosemount will be on your north west corner. A HUGE Westminister road sign is hanging from the lamp post. You can only enter Rosemount off Bathurst which is Westminister Rd. Therefore, you must make a left turn onto Westminister. Across the street there is a bar & grill on the north east corner. The Rosemount parking lot will be full of cars. Another good tip. :) I'll try to spot you. I'm using a YY ISO800. I'm getting there earlier so I can get a spot. Hope to see everyone there. :)

Ok... if I go... (If someone goes wit me I'll go but no one I know is 100% sure they're going yet so I'll decide tomorrow..) I'll use my mp-100 with the light blue grip i guess.. since it'll stand out... and can recongnize me easy.... i'll play there 4-7 and if i'm not tired then maybe stay for 7-10......

Well I can't goto rosemont today. Still haven't found out directions to it....hehe...
Oh well, but I'm gonna goto the church. Aero, and shaun is also going, so if you read this tdot. We will be at the church, so come here too...

Who wants to go to rosemount tomorrow (wednesday)? I can get a ride there.... might have to take long bus ride back...... If shaun goes maybe he can drop me off at subway :) Uhhh Friday, we're going to go to the 6:30 youth one or the 8:30 adult one? (Adult one is $5, probably players are better.. we won't have a chance but it'll be fun) I can pass for 18+ can't I? :P I just won't shave that day lol.

BTW who wants to go with me to Rosemount sunday after church place..??! Only person I know that will go is Jack but I need someone else to come wit me since Jack is good so it would be quite unfair to make him play "beginner" level games with me if I went alone (unless I join into games with other people, but I heard weekend people at rosemount are very intolerant of beginners like myself!) :P

What is it with this place, is the standard good or something? Because in this forum all i have nainly heard about is here and just wondered why it is such a popular place.

No idea why it is so popular. That's why I am gonna go there soon to find out why.:p
Rosemont better be better than my local YMCA though....hehe

Your basic recreational community centre with badminton fanatics having friendly games with each other. The level of play is higher then most other places. I wouldn't say Olympic level but for the upper intermediate to advanced level players, this is a good place to practice and challenge each other. Supply your own shuttlecocks which most prefer feather shuttlecocks. Most of the people that attend are middle to upper class so they can afford to use feather. Lighting is good and air conditioned. :) Only drawback is the attitudes of the people are quite snobby. For really advanced players I'd advice to head downtown to George Brown College. Nothing but feather shuttlecocks and very high skilled people. Last but not least, most of the high schools are closed for the summer so most of us head to Rosemount or L'amoureux Comunity Centre. :)

Would you say that your level of play is higher than Rosemont? Or vice versa?

Zero, a lot of the high school and University aged people are have played in OFFSA. They are quite good. I would rate them advanced. They have good power, and drop shots. They won't play with you unless you are really good(properly coached). They pretty much think you are trying to prove something by going to there place to play. The family groups, are intermediate to advanced and they are very very snobby. They won't play with drop-ins. If you play with nylon, they won't even look at you. I would rate myself as competitive to the Rosemount people. I never got a chance to play with them since they don't want to play with anybody else other then their own groups. Caution: if anyone that goes to Rosemount, please do not go by yourself or in pairs, you will be only practicing your skills with your partner or sit on the bench by yourself. Go in groups of four with similar skilled friends or you won't have a good time.
