I also read brief news about this invitational event through CBA website (translated version). "2008 Four Countries Badminton Championship" will be held at Guangdong Lingnan Pearl Colosseum (same venue with last year event), Foshan City, Guangdong from 14-15 November 2008. The participating countries are China, Denmark, South Korea and Thailand with top shuttlers attendance such as Lin Dan, Xie Xingfang, Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng, Du Jing/Yu Yang, Lee Young Dae/Lee Hyo Jung and Joachim Persson. This team competition will adopt Sudirman Cup format, divided by two groups and each group consist of two countries.

Yesterday group 2 Korea won Thailand 3-1. The only match Korea lost was Women Single. Park Sung Hwan bt Boonsak in rubber set. Lee Yong Dae/ Lee Hyo Jung won XD.

So today final would be China v. Korea!!!

The listings say it should have started at 22:13, but if it's taped, it makes sense that they would push things back since the basketball game just finished at 11 and there was 43 minutes of news - or whatever this (直播 晚间体育新闻, 首播 每日高尔夫) is - in between. At least that's what I'm hoping: that we'll see some badminton at around 10:43!

This sounds like the Tennis Masters Cup - where the top players meet to compete but is not part of the grand slam (or in the badminton case, the Super Series). Should be interesting to see if Indonesia can put a team together for this, since they are facing financial torubles.

BTW, are they competing in next weeks China Open Super Series (2)? Heard they withdrew the team.

Did anyone catch what they said? The schedule says 3h of badminton, it started 45 minutes late, lasted less than one hour, and now they're showing soccer! These certainly aren't just highlights, either, so I'm guessing they just suddenly decided that 3h of late-night coverage of a sport Chinese people actually can and do play was far too much.

Yeah, MS and XD matches are surely more interesting, between Chen Jin vs Park Sung Hwan and He Hanbin/Yu Yang against Lee Young Dae/Lee Hyo Jung. KOR didn't play their top shuttlers in WD, MD and WS at finale.
