Tantowi Akhmad is partnering Shendy Puspa Irawati in the XD. So, Fran Kurniawan can concentrate on MD, with Rendra Wijaya. They should be seeded 3rd.

It's quite tough for the Djarum doubles pairs to win a title here, given that 2 veteran MAS pairs are competing in MD, while Mel/Shendy's arch rival: Jwalla Gutta/Shruti Kurian will also be in HCM City.

Yup, Andre has chance to win second GP title in this year after Dutch Open last month. Local hope Nguyen Tien Minh should be the toughest opponent for Andre here.

Apparently the problem started with Bu Yati of PBSI [YET AGAIN]!!!! :mad::mad::mad: She somehow failed her simple duty of filing names on behalf of PBSI to the tournament organizers again-and-again-and-again but managed to not get fired from PBSI all these years... :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: She somehow came up with the Tantowi-Shendy combo herself... :eek::eek::eek: while neglecting to read the specific written instructions to register Fran-Shendy, Mel-Rendra, and Tantowi-Richie...

Nope... too late, too late... :rolleyes: Bu Yati tried to plead with BWF officials, but too late... :mad: Poor Richie... she's the only one who got nothing out of this... :(

As for Fran-Rendra, well, the only blessing they got out of this disaster is that they can reserve all their energy in getting another GP title for themselves. And Mel can reserve her energy to winning her 1st GP title ever with Shendy in the WD... :D Mel-Shendy are the 1st WD seed [again] here... :D Fran-Shendy should have been 1st seed in XD without the Bu Yati screw-up..., but no chance for them to appear... :rolleyes: :o :p Hey, who knows, maybe Tantowi-Shendy can upset people... ;) They are no pushovers... :p

Overall, it's a very favorable draw for Team Djarum.

In the XD, Tantowi Akhmad/Shendy Puspa Irawati should have no problems clearing the first two rounds and will be tested probably by Hendri Kurniawan Saputra/Yao Lei in the QF. If they can the SIN pair, the top-seed Yohan Hadikusumo Wiratama /Chau Hoi Wah should await them.

In the WD, Meiliana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa Irawati should also have no problem in progressing to SF, where they will likely meet a SIN pair Frances Liu Fan/Vanessa Neo Yu Yan. Their Final opponent should also be the improving SIN pair of Yao Lei/Shinta Mulia Sari, whom they had beaten in the GGJP Indonesia Challenge 3 mths ago. I expect Mel/Shendy to lift the WD title here!

In the WS, both Maria Febe Kusumastuti and Rosaria Yusfin Pungkasari will have a smooth route to the QF. Febe will face Mong Kwan Yi and if she wins, she will face the top-seed Xing Aiying in the SF. Meanwhile, Pipin will face a tough match against Porntip Buranaprasertsuk in the SF.

In the MD, the third-seed Fran Kurniawan/Rendra Wijaya are also likely to progress to the SF, if they can beat Riky Widianto/Chayut Triyachart in the QF. Their SF opponent should be the second-seed Chan Chong Ming/Chew Choon Eng. Fernando Kurniawan/Lingga Lie are also seeded and are likely to fulfill their seeding, with an encounter against the fourth-seed Gan Teik Chai/Lin Woon Fui or Hendri Kurniawan Saputra/Hendra Wijaya in the QF. Only Wifqi Windarto/Afiat Yuris Wirawan have a tough match against the eight-seed Yohan Hadikusumo Wiratama/Wong Wai Hong in the first round.

In the MS, Andre Kurniawan Tedjono should progress to the SF and will face a stern test against the local favorite and top-seed Nguyen Tien-Minh. Ari Yuli Wahyu Hartanto also has a chance to progress to the SF if he can beat the fourth-seed P. Kashyap in the QF. Lastly, Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka should also progress to R16 where he will test Nguyen Tien-Minh first.

Indeed.....if not for the mess, Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati will be top-seed and by looking at the draw, they should have no problem in reaching the Final and probably win the event :o

Maybe...just maybe....if Tantowi/Shendy perform well in this tourney, the Pelatnas XD coaches (Ko Aryono and Richard Mainaky) may just let them continue and partner Fran Kurniawan with Liliyana Natsir? Then, Nova Widianto can partner Greysia Polii. We have seen how Greysia can perform with a senior partner.

In that case, we will see 4 INA XD pairs next year:

BWF website wrote 2-12 to 7-12, they put only 7-12.
