Could anyone here tell me by any chance, how long the string needs to be to complete the entire grid across the face of the racket?
I know the length of the string in the pack is 33 feet but how long does the racket actually use out of the 33 feet. For Isometric and Oval heads.
thanx for all replies
that's variable. i'd say around 29 feet. varies depending on what tension you're pulling at..

Is it possible to string 2 rackets with the same pack of string if you cut the string and tie it at different places?
stringing one racket with two segments of strings (ie. 4 knots, instead of 2 knots) is quite common a practice. the mains with one segment, and the cross with another.
you can then, of course, string two half-racket with one string.
is that what you are asking?

yeah, thanx. Because i find that the tension on my racket seems to be loosening itself up very quickly.....

So what's that got to do with stringing a racquet using two pieces as opposed to one?

I dunno, i just felt that the tension at 24lbs dropped down to about 20lbs again. I was playing today and it loosened up alot.

Maybe the other stringers can help.
Two piece stringing is faster than One piece stringing and my impression is that there isn't a difference in tension. Moreover, each individual string has different stretching characteristics. I think yonex strings "loosen" more than other brands, hence the need to be strung tighter to maintain tension. Has anybody had this experience?
I agree with Cheung.
Except that I find stringing 2 piece is about the same for me as 1 piece. Plus I find that less knots you tie (hence 1 piece stringing) more accurate tension your racquet will result (ie 25lb setting = 24 lb racquet for 1 piece & 25lb setting = 22-23 lb racquet **when the strings settle in**)
But if you happen to break your strings and usually patch them instead of restringing, I would definitely go with 2 pieces.
