to make it short: the federation of a worldwide badminton community should have another own identity and different interest than a japanese stocklisted company. Yonex should be a partner of BWF instead of BWF being a (visual) part of Yonex. Looks brainwashed and weak, also unattractive to potential sponsors...

Yonex basically dominates the world of badminton as far racket supplies goes. The simple reason is because they pump money into racket development and Sponsorship. If other brands pay their players as much or more then Yonex, wouldn't you think that they'll use other brands, or if their equipment is as good, you'll have more variety of brands used by other professionals.

If other brands like Sotx, Head, Carlton, and etc... are as into badminton as Yonex, why don't they have their brand sponsored tournaments. Yonex pump money into the badminton scene to make it big and yet some of you are complaining.

i really hope its temporary because yonex is still badminton's biggest sponsor, its contracts involve a lot more money than other brands. i dont think apacs' contracts has more $$ than yonex. what do you think?:p

its always a good thing to consider more sponsors rather than depending on just the one. but i'd keep yonex as the main sponsor, and hopefully pbsi can negotiate new contracts with big companies like indofood, or any company that's willing.

hey guys and gals! just wana share my pics, i went on the 2nd day, morning session only... i only saw Raphael, the photographer... wanted to look for any fellow forum members, but i dont recognise any (sorry!)...

anyway here are a few below... the 2nd pic, where KKK-TBH and Tony-Candra were looking up, it was because of a commotion that happened, the doors behind us were opened and they pointed it out... the crowd went berserk, and managed to get that shot... haha...

i was sitting in the premium area, but occasionally drifted here and there to get the pics... :p

BTW anyone going to the finals? hope to meet up with u guys and gals...

and in my city...the city council give a big fund for Persib (Bandung's most proud soccer team) and to build a soccer stadium...there isnt any left for badminton...it is the same with other city in Indonesia...all money for soccer!

Of course, being the gentlemen that we are, the much fitter girls won ...... :D. Maybe we are too gentle as men ...... :p

Jen reminds me of Yanti Kusmiati, one of INA's older generation players despite small build. pjswift is as excellent a player as her comments on BC. So too their friends, top class players from Miri.

Hau-ge and I, kong-19 and fastdrop, we all had to bow to their superior courtcraft and firepower .....:p. Only David (kong's friend) partnering kong had success with the girls.

But not the cats ..... they are agile but could only barely get their paws on the shuttle feathers ...... kakakakaka. One of them got the red card while, ahem, officiating a match.

BC SS Final was held on 21/12/2008 from 9am - 11am at Sutera Magellan badminton court....the organization & preparation were much more effective than BWF, it took only less than 24 hours to organize this tournament...:D

1. The stern Umpire that red carded CAT for shooting photos with flash
2. The service judge - never faulted any players, but, why???
3. The line judge - prepare to whack any player who challenge his decision...look at the racket he holds...belongs to Polli...;)

Our BC SS Final proven that women power are more lethal...especially the 2 'M's from Miri, namely Melanie & Michelle...the risen of women power does not include the 2 'L's from Kuching, Louisa & Luyi, as 1 is CAT, another 1 is KITTEN...:D:D:D, they proved to other BC players that they can only take photos, mop the floor, pick up shutter and being whacked by shutter...ouch...painful....:eek::eek::eek:

Jen & PJ, as usual, play good badminton. Kong-19 on the other hand, plays better than all the youngster...he is really 19 yrs old 'only'....;)

Well, X Ball used to play or train with the famous Tan's of Penang fame, if I'm not mistaken. So his skills must have grooved in already. But as for his jumpsmash, erm ... this one I'm not too sure. :rolleyes:

The last time I met him in KL for lunch he did put on some weight which makes jumping a little heavy. If you're not overweight, I guess you can make him run a bit to destroy his skills. ;)

For you, we will specially arrange for some cute-looking, badminton savy gals to grace the occasion. Maybe our Kuching Cats may also find it noteworthy and be persuaded to fly over. :p

But I must warn you that X Ball is meticulous and if you throw a challenge at him, he will train hard to meet all your requirements! :D:D:D

Yeah, trust the CAT in front of seafood, that's all she could think about, no picture session ...... :p

Too bad I am already "retired" from "event management", but there are other guys based in KL that could do this, robin7, ants, terry, X_Ball etc ......... As for food, we could easily raid the nearby Seri Petaling restaurants, from Chinese, Malay to Middle Eastern flavours.

Anyway, my final pix .....
