..will definitely be a busy year in sports, in general. For badminton, you've got the AG (not a BWF sanctioned event), BWF's TC & UC (in M'sia), BWF's World Championships (in France), BWF's World Junior Championships (in Mexico). Other sports: FIFA World Cup 2010, the Winter Olympics (Vancouver)...
any other??..
Btw, not sure if kwun/mods want to move this thread to the Tournament sub-forum? Or risk being buried & un-noticed in this General Forum sub-forum/section??..

Maz ... Did you know that India could miss out on hosting the Commonwealth Games if a dispute over the construction of the athletes' village is not resolved?
If New Delhi was unable to host the Games, Melbourne would likely be asked to be host again: click here (http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/News/News_By_Industry/Melbourne_ready_if_Commonwealth_Games_pulled_from_ India/articleshow/3996206.cms)

Tianhe Sports Centre is undergoing massive upgrading works right now. I was there to pick up my Sudirman Cup tickets last May. Like Senayan Sports Complex, it is a whole complex within the City Centre, with it's own Subway Station and shopping complexes nearby.

China is really strong in AG event (no wonder as they're #1 at last year OG), looking at 2006 XV Doha AG medal-standing they collected 165 gold meanwhile South Korea as runner-up grabbed 58 gold, there's huge gap between China and other Asian countries. As the host, China contingent will bag many more gold medals compared 2006 edition.
