Perhaps this is the umpire's scoring tablet.

It beats me why they must store the input device.
Storing it is like storing a graphic artist's tablet when that is just a data-dumb user terminal.

After all, the centralised scoring system captures the data (with all its identifying metadata) and also the input sequence so that any later disputes can be mediated.

It beats me why they must store the input device.
Storing it is like storing a graphic artist's tablet when that is just a data-dumb user terminal.

After all, the centralised scoring system captures the data (with all its identifying metadata) and also the input sequence so that any later disputes can be mediated.

It is probably the umpire's scoring tablet.

I think by "storing", it means at the end of the day, putting the tablet back into the box with foams etc. to keep it in good condition, as opposed to backing up the data to some storage, which I assume is what you were thinking.
