skyblue 01-06-2009, 07:51 AM if lim khim wah/wong pei tty vs chan peng soon/goh liu ying, i expect senior pei tty will win in this match. In the front net, maybe goh is also great, but i think pei tty is more thing to do in front the net. In the baseline side, i think lim khim wah smashes is good and great. Lim/Wong have done well in Super Series Masters Final, I hope this pair can advance into top 20. Long time no see MAS XD in top 25 after Koo and Wong have scratch pair.
Another entertaining matches is WS battle between Lydia and Sonia. Lydia is more experience but i m surely Sonia have the potential to challenge her sister.

nunu27 01-06-2009, 08:45 PM good start from firda on 2nd set..
samuel882 01-06-2009, 08:58 PM Julia not in form today. Letting her opponents chase for every point.
chris-ccc 01-06-2009, 09:10 PM .
Salakjit, a slow starter , defeated Porntip 13-21, 21-9, 21-10 in 42 minutes.

samuel882 01-06-2009, 09:16 PM Lydia Cheah is toying around her own sis now. Forcing Sonia to run all over the court :p
K14N2 01-06-2009, 09:26 PM I hope Ai Goto can level it and take the 1st set
chris-ccc 01-06-2009, 09:48 PM Lydia Cheah is toying around her own sis now. Forcing Sonia to run all over the court :p
.
:D:D:D That's why Sandy is giving only 4 PAW points to Lydia and 23 to Sonia. :D:D:D
.
chris-ccc 01-06-2009, 09:57 PM I hope Ai Goto can level it and take the 1st set.
.
With Eriko Hirose's experience, Ai Goto would have to work real hard to beat her.
.
madbad 01-06-2009, 10:01 PM HH won the opener 21-13. Is the YoYo show about to start?
madbad 01-06-2009, 10:09 PM As predicted, HH has started to yoyo, down 6-11 in the 2nd
madbad 01-06-2009, 10:10 PM .

Good call. Eriko edges it in 3. I suspect her experience won her the closing points
badMania 01-06-2009, 10:10 PM Phew...Eriko Hirose saves my PAW...needed this one since I forgot to delete my PAW on Hong Ji Hoon  Seems like Nguyen Tien Minh will take that match easily in straight sets.
Now, I am hoping for Sho Sasaki to beat Yoyo Hashim to upset madbad :D
badMania 01-06-2009, 10:11 PM As predicted, HH has started to yoyo, down 6-11 in the 2nd
Unless Sho Sasaki fumbles badly (he has this tendency), he should force a rubber-game.

Haha, HH is a bum! :D
badMania 01-06-2009, 10:13 PM Yoyo is on a roll, winning 9 straight pts now....Sho Sasaki turns to his usual off-focus mode.
jasonmarc 01-06-2009, 10:14 PM Unless Sho Sasaki fumbles badly (he has this tendency), he should force a rubber-game.
Dont worry,...HH have even higher tendency to fumble ........:D:D:D
badMania 01-06-2009, 10:15 PM As feared, Sho Sasaki once again failed to hold big lead....Hafiz will take this one in straight-sets I think.
badMania 01-06-2009, 10:16 PM After 11 straight pts by Hafiz from 7-17 down to lead 18-17, Sho Sasaki finally nails one down to level it at 18-18.
badMania 01-06-2009, 10:18 PM Sasaki at game-pt...20-19. And he didn't waste the chance to force a rubber-set, winning the second set 21-19.
nauyuchi 01-06-2009, 10:22 PM what is this!! come on hafiz!!
dont let the past get u!!

vpsingh 01-06-2009, 10:35 PM A very interesting contest going on between India's Pawar and Taiwan's Hsuan. Both at 22-22 in first game.

vpsingh 01-06-2009, 10:40 PM Ok Pawar wins 27-25 first game. The game seemed never ending. Became tired just watching it ;-)
badMania 01-06-2009, 10:41 PM Sigh...Yoyo Hashim sneaks to R16 after a 22-20 rubber-set victory over Sho Sasaki.
badadum 01-06-2009, 10:42 PM Man.....after saving 6 mp...sasaki finally relent and let HH advanced to the next round. Kinda bummer of an ending...
madbad 01-06-2009, 10:43 PM That YOYO HH is a nightmare. No more PAWing on him
chris-ccc 01-06-2009, 10:44 PM A very interesting contest going on between India's Pawar and Taiwan's Hsuan. Both at 22-22 in first game.

I know, Indian players have been very unpredicatable and this is one of the reason why this game despite being so popular in India has not produced any good names at world level. Lack of finesse is disturbing for their fans.
Still hope, with so many participants this time, we get quality play. :)

wat do u mean by unpredicatable? I think Indian players are quite predicatable, they usually crash out before R16.

Finesse? I always thought Indian players possessed a huge amount of finesse. Wasn't their achilles heel fitness?
vpsingh 01-06-2009, 10:59 PM Finesse? I always thought Indian players possessed a huge amount of finesse. Wasn't their achilles heel fitness?
You can say that. But being an Indian I will certainly prefer using word finesse ;)
etudiant 01-06-2009, 11:04 PM Hsieh Yu Hsin leading comfortably vs LTS
SibugiChai 01-06-2009, 11:05 PM You can say that. But being an Indian I will certainly prefer using word finesse ;)
I think Indian players still playing the style of 80-ish! Lop & Drop...
And seldom see them on international tournament for the past few years, maybe due to no-government support?
etudiant 01-06-2009, 11:07 PM still neck to neck in Pawar's match....and this is 3rd set.....

Actually, yes. Badminton is gradually becoming popular here. But still, there's no cable channel that provides live feeding of tournaments (or at least, none that I know of). Solar Sports (or maybe Studio 23) shows a badminton match on Saturdays. But that's all.

How smart of them. They are always trying to be one step ahead of everybody. No offence meant for their tactics, but how are they going to feel if all other countries start skipping Chinese Grand Prix for their own preparation.
