:D Today final, during WS, me and Aerotus were there watching WS as well as counting how frequent is Tine wiped her shoes. The game went into rubber, and Tine wiped her shoes for more than 100 times!!!!! :eek:

1st set: 42 times
2nd set: 38 times
3rd set: 44 times

Total: 124 times!!! :eek::eek::eek:

yes, we were really counted it!!! Me and Aerotus purposely took out a pen and a notepad to count it... haha... :D

I saw that! She basically wiped after every point, sometimes one side sometimes both sides.

If we sum up the total points, it's 38+36+37=111 times!! Interesting!!

It will be interesting to see if this habit has developed since her recovery from her achilles injury. I know many people who've gone through serious leg (eg. ankle, achilles, knee) injuries tend to be very cautious when they come back because they don't want a repeat of 'slipping'. Anybody got old videos of Tine before THAT injury? Did she wipe her shoes often then?

With that Achilles Injury in the past might got her Supertitious. She might consider Mid Rise badminton shoes like that of Mizuno's. Either she prefer Cleaner Soul/Sole rather than dirty hands!:rolleyes:

It is a Danish superstition that rubbing/touching the shoes is lucky. It is like the Irish superstition that tieing your shoelace on the left shoe/wearing the left shoe first will bring you luck.

If it works, why not ? I will be touching my shoes more often now seeing how it worked for her.:D

I left for QF from Johor at noon.....and since then, i dont have a chance to access to this forum......and i didnt know there was a gathering being planned..............and i have to send my friend back after QF finished.......and check in hotel....around 11pm......so i have to rush.....Sorry to all Bcers.....:o:o...pai seh...pai seh....:o:o

I think throwing shoes has the opposite effect - your luck runs out. And so it did for this guy.:D
