I'm going to buy an Arcsaber 10 from central sports, and you get to choose a free grip and restring if you desire. However I don't know much about either. I'm mostly a doubles player, relying mostly on smash power. I don't want to have to replace the strings regularly (like once a year max) so I don't want anything that will make the strings break easily.

Here are the choices:
Yonex AC420 Re Grip Upgrade
Yonex AC 102 Grap (http://www.centralsports.co.uk/shop.php?page=yonexd&product=1021)
Karakal PU Grip (Single) Universal (http://www.centralsports.co.uk/shop.php?page=detail&product=1012)FREE PROFESSIONAL RESTRING UPGRADE *

Yonex BG80 (Re-String price normally £18.99)
Yonex BG68Ti (Re-String price normally £17.99)
Yonex BG85 (Re-String price normally £17.99)
Yonex Nanogy 95 Gold (Re-string price normally £20.99)
Yonex BG65 Titanium (Re-String Price £18.99)Which should I get?

Grip? Saber 10 has the best original grip from YY line :D but if free then i suggest you take Karakal super PU and of course red color :D
String is personal prefer, but you ask for durability then NBG95 is the answer :D perhaps you must consider BG65ti also...(they have red color :p)

Don't regrip it! (Yet, atleast).
1. You will change the characteristics of the standard set up (ie balance point or weight etc) I'm right in thinking the replacement grips are ever so slightly thicker and heavier than the standard grips? right..? Well that's my experience anyway.
I'd say give it a go with the standard grip first, see if you like it or not and even then it's not too late to regrip it yourself if you don't like it.
Karakal's P U super grip is indeed one of the bext grips out there if you do consider regripping.
2. The original Arcsaber 10 grip is amazing! It's so tacky, it looks amazing, and it lasts for quite some time.

As for strings, the NBG95 Nanogy is definately the best string there. I know it's a bit more expensive than the others, but as you said, you want to keep it for quite some time. So why not just shell out the extra £2/£3 for the best one?

Hope that helps. :D

If you dont want to string it too often, 80 would be a good choice since it can last quite a while depending how aggressive you play, mine lasted me around 2 months with all those hard smashing I did with my Ti-10 :)

As for grips, just get anything that's comfortable so that you won't get blisters and so on. I personally just got use to the Super Grap, so I just stick to that :p

I say go for the PU supergrip and Nanogy 95. BG-80 and BG-85 aren't bad either.

Serpentstrike (http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/member.php?u=44066), when you get your Arc10 from centralsport, can you let us know if that is going to be a UK code racket or it is just another SP racket? Thanks!
