Just wondering if anyone here has ever tried lengthening their own rackets?
It seems like the extra 1cm in XL rackets is usually in the handle rather than the shaft, so wouldn't it be quite an easy modification to make? Maybe attach a block of light wood or some kind of hard foam to the end?
I was just thinking about trying it on an old racket of mine, that's all.

What about add the small block by putting some wood glue/epoxy and use small nails to reinforce it.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking - glue alone isn't going to be strong enough. If the handle is hollow, there might not be anything to knock nails/screws into though. I'll have to cut off/sand the last cm or so first, where the handle widens, and lose the plastic end cap too.

What about the BP of a racket? For sure it will change but by how much?
For a G5 grip normally I use three layers. Original + 1.5mm Thick grip + 0.5mm Overgrip. On one of my racket the BP difference is about 11mm with these grips. A head heavy racket will feel like an even-balanced.

I tend to make the handle longer by wrapping about 9cm of towel grip around the buttcap, leaving about half of the end sticking out. I then roll the remainer inwards, then wrap the rest of the towel grip around the handle, starting from the initial wrapping around the buttcap. This makes the handle about ~1.5cm longer and the butt will be thicker. More comfortable to use, and I can hold the racquet at a lower position too.
