Ok, anyway, I just want to note that INA's Febby Angguni, the 2008 Malaysian Challenge WS champion is still Under-19... :) So... hopefully she will join the fray in Malaysia this October and make the competition more fun...

djake 02-15-2009, 03:45 AM No Gao Huan and Wang Shixian? Are they still eligible?
george@chongwei 02-15-2009, 09:49 AM No Gao Huan and Wang Shixian? Are they still eligible?

suetyan 02-15-2009, 07:13 PM No Gao Huan and Wang Shixian? Are they still eligible?
No, both of them are not eligible. They were born in 1990 also :)
fengc303 02-20-2009, 07:14 AM Tang Jinhua is not Tang Xianhu's daughter, she is from jiangsu province, the same sa lu lan and chen jin.
I think the girl with Bao shoule be bao yixin,a member of hunan team.her former partner is xiahuan.but now xia huan has a new partner lu lu ,so i don't know bao is in national team or hunan team now.

we learn to share BUT maybe someone out there didnt learn to appreciate, why should i spoil my joyish mood by them?
IF i really go to wjc(not exam week),i will enjoy my tiredness and matches.

and i will share to someone that appreciate it,either through pm/msn;)

being one of the hero(mas 2009 ajc mixed team winner) father,i am sure u will be proud if ur son lift a title there:D
Krisna 08-13-2009, 12:49 AM I personally think that the WJC should be an annual event because of the age restriction and the age advantage of an 18 year old [better muscle development etc.] ...but the World Championship should just be a bi-annual event... :p Reducing the 'supply' makes it more valuable. But don't make the World Championship a once-in-4-years event... that's just waay too long...
ctjcad 08-13-2009, 02:50 AM ...holding the WC every 3 yrs??..that'll make it even more valuable!..
Btw, it's biennial. Biannual is something that's held twice a yr..;)
Krisna 08-13-2009, 04:19 AM oops... you're right, Chris... I meant 'biennial'... ;)
gemini12 08-21-2009, 05:01 AM heard that malaysia as a host country can only send 4 players for singles and two for doubles, can anyone confirm this
Krisna 08-24-2009, 02:35 AM I think 4 BS, 4 GS, 2 BD, 2 GD, and 4 XD per country... I don't know the current year's WJC limit...
bradmyster 08-24-2009, 07:20 PM Congratulations to those selected to compete in the Australian Squad
Brendan Chu Leeanne Choo
Nathan David Louisa Ma
Ashwant Gobinithan Victoria Na
Eddie Hung Tara Pilven
Taken from Badminton Australias website.

INA squad....
4 BS:
Evert Sukamta
Ary Trisnanto
Hermansyah
1 more to be selected [Riyanto, Marcus Fernaldi, etc. will compete with each other for this spot]
4 GS:
Siti Anida
Elizabeth from SGS [she is a natural wunderkid, too bad she is so short]
Febby Angguni
Ana Rovita
2 BS:
Rendy-Angga
Ullin-Berry
2 GS:
Scatchy information, but I believe they will stick with the 2 Pratama GS who played in Asian Juniors
4 XD:
A mix between the doubles players...
badMania 09-03-2009, 03:42 AM I think Krisna meant BD and GD.
For GD, I assume it's:
Della Destiara Harris/Ni Made Claudia Ayu Wijaya.
Suci Rizky Andini/Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah.
In XD, how come Irfan Fadhilah/Weni Aggraini are not included?
Sandy 09-03-2009, 04:03 AM Irfan/Weni age are over 19
However they are promising as future XD
I see the promising future players in Pratama are AJC squad in doubles plus Rian Agung, Irfan/Weni, but didn't see in Singles.
Pelatnas Pratama should hire some U-16 players from several clubs.
Jagdpanther 09-03-2009, 04:55 AM If I'm not mistaken, both Anneke and Anisa were born in 1990 or 1991. Still eligible to play in WJC. Why not include them?

Yes, I now got confirmation that it is going to be:
Della-Claudia, #1 ranked Taruna GD today and INA Challenge finalist...
Suci-Tiara, #3 ranked Taruna GD today and 2008 National Champs...
Fair enough! They are the 2 best GD we have... #2 ranked Taruna, Nurbeta-Aulia [both still 17], can wait until next year to represent INA in the World Junior Championships... :)
Krisna 09-04-2009, 02:40 AM I heard there is a big drug-war going on in Mexico's cities... No wonder BWF wants to move the 2010 World Junior Championships to Indonesia... INA is looking for an appropriate venue now... Either Balikpapan/Samarinda/Jakarta/Surabaya/Solo. Nothing is decided yet...

Agree, the decision on WD is fair.
I watched those 2 pair in 2008 Kejurnas, as seeded 1 Della-Claudia lost to Suci-Tiara easily in power game. This year they looked stronger especially Della, doesn't like little kid anymore.
Decision on WS, MD & XD also good.
To be more fair, should be hold selection on all MS players. No INA JUnior MS clearly stronger than others in this time.

I actually agree with you on Taruna BS, Sandy... :D But hey, I'm not Koh Lius... We have to respect his decision... :)
Sandy 09-10-2009, 11:35 PM Just got info,
Andre Marteen qualified as 4th MS after won all matches in selection by beat Riyanto, Vito, Gifar and Markus Fernaldi
Looked like INA U-19 squad almost same with INA U-16 2006 (Evert, Andre, Febby, Kevin/Angga, Claudia/Della, Gebby only Ayu Pratiwi out).

Krisna 09-11-2009, 03:50 AM I think Surabaya is an excellent venue... the crowd are enthusiastic towards all badminton events, even Junior Badminton... The Jakarta crowd... err... they love big stars, but not necessarily Juniors... :p

Andre deserve to win this final ticket for the World Junior 2009. He is 18 and this is his last chance to represent INA as a Junior. It is his time to shine. Marcus Fernaldi is also 18 but he is better at doubles rather than singles...
Riyanto, Vito, Gifar are still 16, 15, 15... even though they got spectacular skills as Juniors, but they lack the patience and endurance of Andre. Andre had to play tough rubber sets to defeat Gifar & Vito... and a tough straight set that went to 23-21 in his win over Riyanto. They need to mature one more year and then ready to compete for the 2010 World Junior... [which will probably be in INA]... :D And besides, they all can still join 2011 World Junior.... and even 2012 World Junior for Vito and Gifar... Lots of time...

Yup...Jakarta Pls....Just like 2005 AJC at Tennis indoor

back to this year!:p
Misbun, Zulfadli make cut for world junior meet
By RAJES PAUL
KUALA LUMPUR: Young shuttlers Misbun Ramdan Misbun and Zulfadli Zulkifli received an early Hari Raya cheer after being given the green light to compete in the World Junior Championships for the first time.
Malaysia are hosting the annual event for the first time in Kedah from Oct 23-Nov 1.
The duo made the cut ahead of several Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) players following their unexpected good run in the Asian Junior Championships at Stadium Juara in Bukit Kiara in July.
The lanky youngsters – Ramdan of Nusa Mahsuri and Zulfadli of KLRC Rackets – reached the semi-finals of the Asian meet.

They will join the BAM’s top two juniors – Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin and Mohd Syawal Ismail – in both the team and individual events.
National junior chief coach Sun Chenhua said Ramdan and Zulfadli deserved to play as they had proven themselves.
“They did well to reach the semi-finals (of the Asian meet) and I decided to recommend them to be considered in the team. In fact, Ramdan has started training with us,” said Chenhua, who added that Iskandar and Syawal “are coming back from minor injuries”.
“Syawal was down with an ankle injury while Iskandar had a stiff back. But they are shaping up well now in training,” he said.
In the Asian junior meet, Iskandar lost to China’s Tian Houwei in the final while Syawal went down fighting in the semi-finals.
“All four – Iskandar, Syawal, Ramdan and Zulfadli – gained valuable experience in the Asian junior meet. I hope they have learnt from their mistakes and will give another rousing performance in the world junior meet,” said Chenhua.
“They were unable to handle the pressure when it mattered most. Hopefully, they will be more focused and not put undue pressure on themselves at the world junior meet.
“We have another one and half months to prepare for the tournament. I will be happy if we can make the semi-finals of the team event and one of the boys reach the singles final.”
Chenhua has also recommended four girls’ singles players – Tee Jing Yee, Sonia Cheah, Yang Li Lian and Florah Ng – for the world meet.
National doubles coach Yap Kim Hock is expected to name the boys’ and girls’ pairs for the world junior meet soon.

badMania 09-15-2009, 08:52 PM The South Koreans will not be competing in the Team Event as they miss the registration deadline. Even with this news, I don't think INA will be among the top 4 seeds
As with the AJC, INA will be banking on the BD event to deliver a title. Yohanes Rendy Sugiarto/Angga Pratama and Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan will spearhead INA's challenge in this event!
As for the other events, INA can hope for a better draw. The more experienced Febby Angguni might go far.
event 09-16-2009, 12:48 AM The South Koreans will not be competing in the Team Event as they miss the registration deadline. This is quite likely intentional, considering 3 factors:
1) the National Sports Fest is October 20-26
2) the dismal showing by the second string in the AJC mixed team event
3) the inability of even the top juniors to beat China in Mokpo last month (http://www.badzine.info/index.php/news/newsflash/61-newsflash/2031-korea-china-japan-junior-sports-exchange-china-tops-hosts.html).
george@chongwei 09-16-2009, 12:54 AM yup, the south korean junior team will miss this tournament.
South Korea’s absence in world juniors mixed team event lights up Malaysia
By LOGANATH VELLOO
ALOR SETAR: South Korea will not compete in the mixed team event of the Yonex-Sunrise World Junior Badminton Championships, which will be held at the Sultan Abdul Halim Indoor Stadium here from Oct 23-Nov 1.
And the news is like sweet music to Malaysia, who are set to move up to take second seeding when the draw is made later this month. The seeding means that Malaysia can only meet top seed China in the final.
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) media and communications manager, S. Selvam, confirmed at the championships’ official logo launch at the Wisma Darulaman here yesterday that South Korea failed to register for the team event on time.

“We waited until last weekend to accommodate late entries for the mixed team event. But we did not hear anything from South Korea and we will have 22 countries for the event,” he said. But the door is still open for the Koreans to compete in the individual events as the closing date for entries is on Oct 9.”
The 22 countries for the mixed team competition are Cambodia, Canada, China, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, the Philippines, the United States, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia.
Malaysia will start as strong contenders for the title following their success in winning the Asian junior title in Kuala Lumpur this year. Malaysia stunned China 3-1 in the final.
“Of course, it (the Korean absence) is good news,” said national juniors’ doubles chief coach Yap Kim Hock in a telephone interview from Kuala Lumpur. “It is best to avoid being drawn in the same half as China. But securing a top two seeding does not mean that Malaysia will cruise into the final. We cannot take the other teams for granted, especially Denmark and Thailand.”
He added that he had already submitted his list of doubles players for the championships to the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) for approval.
Singles coach Sun Chenhua has already disclosed his list of players. They are Iskandar Zulkarnain, Misbun Ramdan Misbun, Zulfadli Zulkifli, Mohd Syawal Ismail, Tee Jing Yi, Sonia Cheah, Yang Yi Lian and Florah Ng.
Meanwhile, the Kedah BA announced that they would be selling season tickets for all competition days priced at RM30. They will be made available at the KBA Badminton Hall in Jalan Suka Menanti from two weeks before the championships begin.
The team competition will run from Oct 23-26 and the individual events from Oct 28-Nov 1.
It will be the second time that Malaysia are hosting the annual championships after 1994 in Kuala Lumpur. In the last championships in Pune, India, Malaysia won the men’s doubles title through Mak Hee Chun-Teo Kok Siang.

What?!? We're not in the top 4 seed?!? :o :o Who are considered the top 4 then? China, Malaysia..... and who else?  I think our INA Juniors will still be able to defeat Denmark, Japan, Thailand, England, Germany, India, Taiwan, Vietnam, France etc.
We'll just have to show our worth in the court... ;) Just to show the organizers that INA is not some pushover country... :D

We surely hope that INA will win the BD title, just like the AJC. Rendy/Angga and Ulin/Berry are definitely INA's top BD pairs at the moment. Not to mention Rendy/Angga are the reigning AJC champion! Ulin/Berry also won the Dutch and German Juniors; New Zealand Int Series, and Laos Int Challenge.
suetyan 09-18-2009, 08:43 PM WJC official website: http://www.wjc09.com/
China will send the same squad as in AJC. But some singles players will be substituted. The list is to be confirmed.

INA has historically always been good at MD... We got 3 Olympic gold medals, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze to prove it... [actually INA never went home without at least 1 medal in MD since the 1992 Olympics]... Nobody will be surprised if these 2 INA pairs do well...
INA's weak link is WD, no medals whatsoever throughout the Olympics history... I guess MAS has the same fate too [so far]... :p And also, I don't think INA ever won a title in GD in the World Junior Championships... :o

Semifinal : Winner of Group W vs Winner of Group X ; Winner of group Y vs Winner of group Z

What?!? This draw is not good for INA... :( CHN will most probably beat INA 4-1 [loosing only the BD] and that's it... :o
I wish the runner up of the group can compete in the quarterfinals or something. But oh well... :p
jasonmarc 10-01-2009, 05:15 AM Looking at the draw.....China is more likely to advance to SF and Thailand is having greater chance to meet China in SF............
It will be a hard match for China as Thai juniors are very good........an up set is expecting here....

Malaysian Heroes like Iskandar,Tee Jing Yee, Ow Yow Han and LaiPei Jing, Lai/Hui Ern and GJH/pang will probably be fetures in the team events.

event 10-20-2009, 03:40 AM South Korea withdrew from this tournament because MOST of their players are busy with their country's national gamesThat is partly true. ALL of them are busy with the National Sports Festival. MOST will continue to be busy after it finishes on Monday. More details HERE (http://www.badzine.info/index.php/news/international/2147-world-junior-champs-koreans-have-other-plans.html). Technically, it's not a 'withdrawal' as they did not send in any registrations in the first place.

erm
dont it is been saying so:korea missed the register date?
event 10-20-2009, 04:10 AM My mistake. George is correct about 'most'. The middle school players (including the three who were sent to the AJC, incidentally) cannot play in the NSF so Korea could theoretically have sent an absurdly under-strength team to Alor Setar.

dont it is been saying so:korea missed the register date?I'm not sure I understand your question but The Star, for example, reported that the BWF said 'we did not hear anything from South Korea'. No one has reported Korea saying 'Oh, Darn! Was it yesterday?' Remember, no one suspected China of 'missing' the registration deadline for the Dutch Open.;)
The National Sports Festival has been on the schedule all year. There is no reason to suspect that Korea not registering for the WJC was an accident.

Jagdpanther 10-24-2009, 06:23 AM Sigh, we still have to wait patiently, very patiently, to see the true successor of Susy. :(
badMania 10-24-2009, 06:23 AM It will be hard for Febby to come back...a pity though as she was leading 9-6 in the third-set
copadh 10-24-2009, 06:23 AM it's finish for febby...:(
INA 1-1 CHN
simonlovers 10-24-2009, 06:23 AM CHN - INA 1-1
hm...
Jagdpanther 10-24-2009, 06:25 AM Next, Tian Houwei vs Ary Trisnanto.
Tian lost once and won once against Iskandar. Let's see whether Ary has the capability to beat him.
badMania 10-24-2009, 06:26 AM Chen Xiaojia levels it up for Team CHN, 1-1. Now, Ary Trisnanto and Della Destiara/Ni Made Claudia Ayu Wijaya will have tough jobs to do against Tian Houwei and Tang Jinhua/Xia Huan.
limsy 10-24-2009, 06:27 AM mas might still lose to japan
gambateh
limsy 10-24-2009, 06:32 AM where is the ajc ws runner up?
huangkwokhau 10-24-2009, 06:32 AM It seems HKG junior is quite strong.......if HKG BS takes this match and it is over for Thailand..I do not understand why INA is seeded below MAS/Japan or Thailand....

IMO, Della/Audi have better chance than Ary... Tian Houwei only need 5 minutes to lead 11-4 in interval...sigh...

I agree. If Della/Claudia lose, it will be all-over. The key match is Febby Angguni's match  She still cannot beat Chen Xiaojia despite her increased exposure to international tourneys.
huangkwokhau 10-24-2009, 06:38 AM it's finish for febby...:(
INA 1-1 CHN

badMania 10-24-2009, 06:38 AM but this year ina looks strong

INA will have a strong challenge to the BD title, with CHN's pair almost likely being inferior from today's match  The other BD to watch will be JPN and MAS.
