Nope, I have 1 at home right now and I have not string it yet because I just don't have time to string it up yet... I will post something later. If I ever get to it...

yonex seems to have downsized the numbers in newer armortec rackets, but they're geared towards intermediate players i believe... what some websites are saying is that it's like a desized 700 imo.

Actually, if you consider AT150-AT300 as mid range, AT70 MG is actually lower than AT150. From the initial look and swing, it is a more beginner racquet design to give AT700 feeling. It is has Mega Frame (No more MF, It just sound wrong if you know what I mean) with bigger head size. Feel a little more on head heavier than other AT (up to AT300). Will update tomorrow with a more detail review...

Yes, you are right on the price. The MAP for AT300 is $129 USA while AT70MG is $145. However, I was looking at the design and feel it is more for beginner and it looks like a beginner racquet to me because of user friendliness.

Spec:
3UG4 strung with BG65 at 21x23lb
Initial impression:
It is a very iso head racquet. Also a very head heavy racquet. Momentum carry very well on test swing. Man this is a racquet with very BIG head!
Warm up:
WOW! very head heavy but easy to swing. WOW! very powerful just like AT700. Clear to base line to base line is easy. Smash is powerful. However, the side to side control is lacking (a little or a lot, depend on what you are using right now). I feel my drop shot is not there. May be I am use to Cab30 and NS8000 and my style.
Game time:
When I play back court, it is just easy to hit and smash. Defense is none existence. Can't turn fast enough to block shot. However, if I can get the AT70 on the shuttle, it clear easy but a little high on the block. I am not that use to a head heavy racquet. Net shot was there at the end of the game but defense is never there.
Conclusion:
A great offensive player's racquet. It is like a little brother of AT700 with too much energy. Lack of control is a concern for me. however, with the powerful smash into the center of the court, who care about control...

Too much energy ? You mean too much powerful ?

No, it is just an expression. It is like if you have a younger brother with too much energy and just keep running around the house. There is no way to control him and you just get tired after a while and the kid will still keep going strong. It will just drive you tired unless you know how to control it...

hahaha...fyi i'm intermediate level player...last time i bought its only rm140 ( without string)...heavy head racket which can generate power for smashing..what surprising me its also superb in defense and drive play.but still prefer my Apacs VH 1800 coz can generate more power for my smashing.for me this yonex racket more to single player for what its can give u..so coz me playing double still prefer my vh1800.my conclusion for this racket... for Yonex lover who cant afford it at high price this low end made in taiwan yonex racket is best at its class.

The AT70MG is very new. It is one of Yonex's 2009 series rackets.
The Armortec series wasn't even out 10 years ago.

Actually, I don't recommend beginners use this racquet. They should go with something flex and even-balanced.

It's got a huge iso frame...that's good for beginners. If they want a head heavy, easy to use racquet, this seems like it.

I just had one in my bag, the reason I brought it, be course it is the most simular with my AT700 3u, the handle feel and heavy head, even thought it made in taiwan.
Quality wide is acceptable, with very low price, can use it as double play racket.
If some one who want to have AT 700 and with low price, high cost effect it the choice.

Depend. If you are a single player with offensive style, go with AT70mg2. If you plays more control and defensive game, go with NS850. However, please try out both racquets before you make your final decision.

There's also the AT 70 Lee Chong Wei Edition, which seems to sell for a slightly cheaper price and is a nice yellow colour. I was looking at this racket, but want to try it first too. Just can't get my hands on one! Otherwise I'll get an AT600 or Victor racket

If I am not mistaken AT70MG is armortec 70 mega frame. My brother owned this racket and I did use it for few swing. This racket come with manufacturer string and I not sure what is the tension strung on the racket. Probably around 18-20lbs.
Here is my review if this is the racket you're looking for.
Spec: Armortec 70 Mega 3UG4
Power: 3/5
Maneuver: 2.5/5
Stiffness: Medium
Price: <MYR 200 (Purchased from Stapok court - Only in Kuching, Malaysia)
Again, this is an armortec series, so be expected it is head-heavy balance. This racket is great if you're an offensive player. IMO, this racket suitable for beginner to intermediate player. When you clear/smash, it is quite powerful. As for defend, it may be hard to control. But I believe, when you get used to it, you can maximize both offensive and defensive ability.
Overall this racket is good enough for those looking for power play and low budget. Hope this can help. =)

Thanks dude, that was really helpful of you! Was looking at this racket because it seems value for money and I can get it very cheap, but not sure about the overall weight/feel of the racket. I can also spend more money and get a Victor Bravesword 09, TIW Slim or even Yonex AT600/700. Haha completely different prices I know, but I'm sure I'm good enough even though I've played a while - I still feel like I should start with more intermediate rackets, but maybe I'm being harsh on myself! Ah well, thank you!

Just get one the AT70 Lee Chong Wei Edition http://www.yonex.com/wbp/spec/index.html. Got free yonex shirt, bag (some shop did not give you the free gift but sell it instead) and BG66 and strung it with 24lbs since it can support up to 25lbs. Had try it a few times and kind a agree that it give you power wen smashing but lack of control since it head heavy..
