2009 German Open: Day 4 Friday February 27

For match results as they are progressing live: click here (http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draw.aspx?id=26606&draw=24)

On Day 3, we found Flandy Limpele/Halim Heryanto Ho defeating the top-seed in the MD.
Flandy Limpele/Halim Heryanto Ho will now face Tony Gunawan/Howard Bach [6] at the Quarter-Finals.

It looks like Gan Teik Chai/Tan Bin Shen could make it to the SF too.

Flandy Limpele/Anastasia Russkikh defeated the Japanese pair comfortably and they will have a tough test against Han Sang Hoon/Kim Min Jung [7] today.

I am still following Wong Choong Hann. But today, he will face Chen Long who appears to be in great form.

Cheers... chris-ccc

Interesting match between former World Champ Tony/Howard against Flandy/Halim. Also MAS seasoned shuttler Wong Choong Han vs CHN rookie Chen Long.

wch will lose to cl???? hehe...

That would be one of the biggest upsets in this tournament, if WCH (WR14) gets defeated by CL (WR213). Even in our PAW Games, CL is given only a 12:1 chance to defeat WCH.

HJH is WR54, only 40 below WCH... so it's not such a big upset.

One day CL will get to defeat WCH. But don't think it's today.
Anyway, in just 6 hours' time, we shall know if CL can defeat WCH this time.

Against non-CHN 's B/C team.
Even then, BCL's gotta take a G2 rest as AS netted the G2 so that he had enough energy to smash to his win in G3.That's something for WCH to think about when playing opponents with decent skills but better stamina.
Shoji Sato showed that going from playing MS to MD is a good option.

jutawin ... It's so true that if WCH couldn't win in straight games, then the match could be too difficult for him.

However, it's always great to find WCH's 'never-say-die' attitude. Coming back from 2-13 to 16-17 in the 3rd game must have drained him, not only physically but mentally.

It's just too much for an 'Old Warrior' WCH in a 59-minutes match.

Much has been said of CHN team being rusty and all that, I have posted before that CHN team are always well prepared and their team sparring and just making the cut for the national team is harder than SS. Also, MAS juniors are running out of time making it to the main SS events, if still keep crashing out early may have to start thinking second career frying chau-kwei-teo or selling kachang puteh on the road side or chicken rice and all those yummy MAS food. Guess who said they believe TCS, CWF are ready now;)
