View Full Version : LYD/SBC goes to Final of 2009 AE
narnia 03-01-2009, 09:12 PM Having shown tremendous promises by winning the title of 2009 German Yonex Open, Lee YongDae/Shin BackCheol again have a good chance to go through to the final of 2009 All England; Look at the Draw (http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draw.aspx?id=F52CFDF6-3AB9-4A29-820C-CE30E6D7D260&draw=5);
In the first upper quarter of the draw, as MK/HS withdrew, no obstacles.
In the second quarter, the competition will be among; Latif/Tazari, Robertson/Clark, and two Korean MD teams including HJM/HSH.
It all makes LYD/SBC have a good opportunity to fight with good stamina at the QF. Despite the absence of JJS, LYD knows very well about the MD teams he has won over. You should enjoy the fantastic rotational plays of the new partnership.
If they can't, SBC has a good excuse; he's just 19 yrs old now, of less experience! :)

anyway....ppl say lee/fang is world 2nd/3rd class pair when koo/tan won macau 08 by defeat them...:p
samuel882 03-02-2009, 07:57 AM Quite impressive as a scratch pair. The way the move (synchronized) clearly shows that this wasn't a last mins partnership, I m pretty sure they've been partner for many occasions in training.
SBC defense still need to improve alots, especially when opponent keep on smashing , he will be under pressure until lift the shuttle too high and easy to kill off .
LYD more spirited in MD than XD with his regular partner. I think the same spirit will be continues in the upcoming AE.
jutawin 03-02-2009, 09:32 AM Let's see how far they can go.
Don't put too much expectation on them..
ctjcad 03-02-2009, 11:27 AM ..one thing going for this new partnership, which so far has worked out in the recently ended German Open. In that, since they are a new pairing, not many doubles pairs are familiar with their style/game plan (strengths and weaknesses). And as the more this new pairing wins, the more confidence they'll get.
There's no guarantee that they will reach the Final round in this AE but let's see if they can take advantage of this opportunity and capitalize on these 3 European tournaments.:cool:

..i remember that. And guess what happened in BC after they won their first couple of big tourneys: BCers, well, mostly M'sians were jumping up and down and as Pemuda likes to call it "chest-thumping" all the way from Penang to Kuala Lumpur, declaring the badminton world has witnessed a new pair to be reckoned with...
Of course, we know what happened soon after that.......Pemuda arrived out of nowhere and BC has never been the same since...;)
