Isn't Lydia Cheah already through to the main draw?
Also, Fairuzizuan & Wong Pei Tty are to meet a Japanese pair, aren't they?

chris@ccc got the slightly older version.
When players get promoted to the main draw, things change in the qualifiers. Furthermore, chris@ccc posted the top qualifying seeds, the first ones to get an automatic promotion should there be any last-minute main draw withdrawals.
hcyong 03-02-2009, 10:45 PM In the MS, the second (with Anup Sridhar, Kuan BH, Chong WF and Tommy Sigiarto) and fourth (with Gong WeiJie, Hong Ji Hoon and Tanongsak) qualifying groups are tough.
In the WS, the second group is tough, with Bae Youn Joo, Jang Soo Young, Fu Mingtian and Cheng Shao Chieh. That's really tough.
There is no interesting group in MD, though He HB/Sun JJ v Alven/Hendra may spark some interest.
WD qualifiers are no more, as everyone advanced straight to the main draw.
Nothing interesting in the XD for the neutral observer, but as a Malaysian, I am expecting Fairuz/Wong PT and Razif/Woon KW to go through. Chan PS/Goh LY have a fighting chance, seeing the XD qualifiers does not have a particularly strong field.
badMania 03-02-2009, 11:20 PM MD Q1
Hendra Aprida Gunawan/Alvent Yulianto Chandra vs Sun Junjie/He Hanbin -- the first of 2 qualifying matches AG/Alvent have to play in order to qualify. A tough one, but, their experience will see them through.
MS Q1
Chong Wei Feng vs Tommy Sugiarto -- a big one for Tommy and he will count himself lucky if he can beat 2 opponents today. Very very unlikely I will say

That's why the All-England is so tough lower ranked players.
Being a prestigious tournament, all the 'big guns' are there. ;););)

Tommy Sugiarto should participate GP or GP Gold tourney, not SS level like All England. Yeah, he has slim chance to grab main draw ticket.

I agree with badMania.
For CWF and TS, their main obstacle is in their 2nd Round of their Qualifications, where the 'bigger guns', Anup Sridhar or Kuan Beng Hong will be waiting. ;););)

samuel882 03-03-2009, 06:11 PM What a Yoyo Perfomance by CWF ! He could be MAS next yoyo (at least HH not so inconsistent during his juniors age)
Razif/ CPS must be so mad to be brought down by the same Japanese pair , which is relatively unknown before the GO last week..
jasonmarc 03-03-2009, 08:35 PM Well,...once again Mjs have fail to do it .....after GO............
MS fail to get past Indian player...Anup
MD fail to Jap Juniors..................

Can't really fault KBH and CWF for losing to Anup. Anup is a solid player. And KBH came close to taking it. If one or two points fell the other way, KBH and CWF would have been fighting for that spot.
A bit disappointed with Chan PS/Razif for losing to the Japanese, but then again, the Japanese MD looks solid these days and are even actually ranked higher.

If its any consolation, CWF did take out TS....who's considered the best of all INA MJ.

Razif/ CPS must be so mad to be brought down by the same Japanese pair , which is relatively unknown before the GO last week..
CWF's solid. He has been on an upset trail.Didn't he upset TS who's fresher than him since Tommy did not play GO? After a 60+ min battle with an hour's 'rest',he had to take on a solid player like AS (who had an easier 40+ min encounter) and still had the grit to push AS to a tough finish in G2.
Some common sense in judgment won't hurt.Although 'common sense' is apparently not so common since a coach like Rashid would also likely see it your way.
What's your exact meaning of 'yoyo'?
hcyong 03-03-2009, 11:34 PM Yes,.......but...When will be the time that Mas players looks solid to others...?....:(
Depends on which MAS players you are talking about. CWF and KBH are hardly the mainstays of MAS badmintion. Technically, I could also be a MAS player, but I will never be solid. I'll be lucky if I'm liquid, but I'm probably some light gas like helium.
george@chongwei 03-04-2009, 01:06 AM wow, i see lots of rubber sets matches going on in yesterday's ms qualifying round.

Also some forgot it was Razif's 4th match of the day, having played 2XD & 1 MD qualifying, I expected CPS/Razif to lose to the Japanese. And as you indicated, CPF/Razif are ranked lower at #121.
Interestingly, this same Japanese pair beat Korea's Cho/Ko in Round 1 today.
