Badminton Club of Multimedia University (Melaka campus) is proud to present you MMU Master 2009 Melaka Open Badminton Championships, for the fourth time running. The event will be held at Yok Bin Secondary School Badminton Hall Melaka on the 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th and 19th April 2009.

The objectives of this event are to promote the game domestically in a nationwide scale and also bring up the good name of the MMU Melaka Badminton Club as well as the university. This tournament was formed with intentions for the students of MMU to collaborate with the public. The public is highly welcomed to participate in this event.

There are 2 types of categories which are the open and closed categories. The open category includes Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. This category is open to all. As for the closed category, it involves Men’s Singles and Men’s Doubles only. However, current and former state or national players above the age of 14 and below 40 are not allowed to take part in this category.

Having Sunrise Sports Sdn Bhd and A One Carriage Sdn Bhd as the main sponsors for MMU Master 2009, the prizes and cash amounts have definitely increased to a higher level. This time, the prizes and cash that are worth more than RM40,000 will be given out during this tournament.

The drawing of lots will be conducted in Multimedia University (Melaka Campus) at CLC0002 (A2) on 2 April 2009.

For your information, other activities that are also involved are “Kids Talent”, Lucky Draw and “Guess and Win” contest with attractive prizes to be won. We highly welcome everyone from all walks of life to come and give support not only to us, but also the players of the tournament.

Badminton Sport, Centre Point Badminton Hall and Multimedia University (Melaka campus). The payment for the registration can be made through postal order. btw, i heard misbun's son is here and will participate in this tournament too. is that true?

yes ray, i will definately be there. as for george, there is a player by the name Misbun Syawal Bin Misbun, but i am not sure whether is he the son of the legendary Misbun sidek. He however only participate in OPEN category which means he must be a state player at least since closed category BAN any current+former state/national players

hafiz hashim did not make it and rexy did not play due to injured i suppose, i cant confirm whether it is injury or not but i sure do see him limping around
