Meanwhile, Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan lost to Lee Yong Dae/Shin Baek Cheol as expected, in 3-sets: 21-17, 15-21, 14-21.

Another of Nova/Butet's boogey pair Anthony Clark/Donna Kellogg lost to the KOR young pair of Ko Sung Hyun/Ha Jung Eun; which can only be good news to the INA pair. So, only the second-seed Lee Yong Dae/Lee Hyo Jung remains in the lower half.
