View Full Version : ChenJin vs LD
dassad 03-06-2009, 07:01 PM Strange I can't find this topic, but this opposition is very interesting. Despite strong dominance at OG, LD has 2 real reasons to beat ChJ: the last year lose and the very last meeting between these two..
I was surprised reading ChJ is only 21:rolleyes:
Destricto_Ense 03-06-2009, 07:14 PM I'm sorry but I can't see any other result than a victory for Lin Dan. Chen Jin has been hobbling for the last two matches.
indra 03-06-2009, 07:19 PM I'm sorry but I can't see any other result than a victory for Lin Dan. Chen Jin has been hobbling for the last two matches.
The score will be 21-9, 21-8 for LD:D
chin yin 03-06-2009, 07:34 PM Chen Jin is 23 years old. Born in January 1986.
yen_saw 03-06-2009, 07:35 PM Come on, at least 21:10, 21:10 :)
Under 10 is too embarassing may ;)
2cents 03-06-2009, 07:40 PM I'm sorry but I can't see any other result than a victory for Lin Dan. Chen Jin has been hobbling for the last two matches.
Chen Jin beat GWJ easily...
Destricto_Ense 03-06-2009, 07:52 PM Chen Jin beat GWJ easily...
Do you understand the meaning of the verb "hobble"? (not sure whether you're a native English speaker) Chen Jin's legs are injured; he was not moving at full pace. However, he was still experienced enough to be able to control his match against the youngster Gong Weijie.
crystal612 03-06-2009, 07:54 PM i believe LD will win this match, maybe 21:10;21:10, won't be under 10
Oldhand 03-06-2009, 07:59 PM Last year, Lin Dan did someone a favour.
It's time for that favour to be returned ;)

I believe Gong Weijie is only 5 months younger than Chen Jin. They are born in the same year. Correct me if I am wrong. :)
badadum 03-06-2009, 08:13 PM I believe Gong Weijie is only 5 months younger than Chen Jin. They are born in the same year. Correct me if I am wrong. :)
Dunno about the same year but CJ and GWJ are from the same batch of junior players.
jasonmarc 03-06-2009, 08:16 PM This time they act differently.................rubber games........but 21 - 12 10 - 21 21 - 11.........................in less than 30 mins......just like training....
Destricto_Ense 03-06-2009, 08:29 PM I believe Gong Weijie is only 5 months younger than Chen Jin. They are born in the same year. Correct me if I am wrong. :)
Really? I didn't know that, but I surmised from the gulf in terms of their ability that Chen was more experienced and so probably older than Gong.
cooler 03-06-2009, 08:40 PM i do hope CJ give LD a good workout which LD haven't had yet.
It's not good to go into AE final against a readied LCW or TH with a relaxed attitude and unstretched muscles. ....
Tekkai 03-06-2009, 08:54 PM oh great CJ is injured..so he will fight an injured BCL in swiss open!=)
Oldhand 03-06-2009, 09:21 PM I believe Gong Weijie is only 5 months younger than Chen Jin. They are born in the same year. Correct me if I am wrong. :)

Chen Jin - Jan 10, 1986 - he is already 23
Gong Weijie - Jun 02, 1986 - he is still 22
lydster is right about the age difference :)
yen_saw 03-06-2009, 10:31 PM I could be wrong, i think both CJ and GWJ were both together in the world junior team where CJ won back to back MS junior champ?
cooler 03-06-2009, 10:47 PM I could be wrong, i think both CJ and GWJ were both together in the world junior team where CJ won back to back MS junior champ?yes, i saw that video. It is was a close match held in vancouver. Amazing how a world jr title and being runnerup would change 2 people's life so much.
badmad 03-06-2009, 11:43 PM hmm, not a tough call. i don't expect a good match between chinese players playing against each other. So i won't bother about it.
but the other one, yummy! :p wish i could watch it live!

U really think the fix will happen again?
China can have a fancy win, but sure won't get me impressed.
extremenanopowe 03-06-2009, 11:49 PM lindan to win 21-19, 21-1. hehe. ;)
badmad 03-06-2009, 11:55 PM U really think the fix will happen again?
i would think so. but i am not bothered.
george@chongwei 03-07-2009, 12:29 AM i would think so. but i am not bothered.
haha, badmad? your username reminds me of naughty madbad:D
well, this time LD WILL prevail to the final if based on CURRENT FORM.
limsy 03-07-2009, 03:44 AM hehe....lindan will get pass at the easiest way.....

Hey, stop stealing my line ;):D
madbad 03-07-2009, 04:11 AM I could be wrong, i think both CJ and GWJ were both together in the world junior team where CJ won back to back MS junior champ?
That is correct. We witnessed it in Richmond, BC
madbad 03-07-2009, 04:13 AM i would think so. but i am not bothered.
As always madbad follows badmad. I think the sentiment is mutual among many

And as always I have tell george off for his loving comments on me. Bad George! ;):D:D
jutawin 03-07-2009, 04:55 AM CJ will give LD victory tonight, as LD gave him AE title last year, to make sure CJ have enough point to qualify to olympic as China 3rd MS at that time..
I would break my pc, if CJ win this match. Hehe..
No one 03-07-2009, 05:11 AM this is slightly off-topic, but there's actually a vid floating somewhere between CJ and GWJ: they are playing in the Chinese national championships or something in 2008--CJ for nanjing and GWJ for....I can't remember, it might've been Xiamen. The commentators (in Chinese) kept going on about how good CJ had gotten and it was because of his international experience, but it was actually a pretty close game, from memory--altho CJ won. It struck me that this was a better measure of Gong Weijie's ability (he was brilliant at the net), but I guess there's an argument that his AE performance showed he's still got a way to go at the international level. And of course there is the issue of 'orders'....

GWJ I think is better at attack
yd0911 03-07-2009, 06:22 AM Lin Dan's gonna win the match! GOOOOOO LIN DAN! GOOOO! Make it 21-0, 21-0 against CJ!
koo_fan 03-07-2009, 07:13 AM As always madbad follows badmad. I think the sentiment is mutual among many
You and badmad must stop quoting each other.i got confused!heheh (^_*)
dassad 03-07-2009, 08:01 AM I dont understand LD gonna to win this because ChJ has legs problems or LD just stronger now?
limsy 03-07-2009, 08:10 AM I dont understand LD gonna to win this because ChJ has legs problems or LD just stronger now?
the answer is:lyb....;)
dassad 03-07-2009, 08:26 AM sorry dont know this slang.. )
Destricto_Ense 03-07-2009, 08:39 AM Lee Yong Bo - the name of the China head coach. I don't think there will be any interference by LYB though. Anyway, even if Chen Jin were 100% fit he would not be able to beat Lin Dan, but the fact that he is injured makes victory for LD a certainty.

I think LD for sure remember that 2 losses very good. But now I am watching his last game with Persson - LD is just in great shape! What hand work, what diagonal shots!
peter.web80 03-07-2009, 06:51 PM The Semi Final Video b/w Lin Dan and Chen Jin can be found here.
http://watchbadminton.com/videos/yonex-all-england-open-2009/men-singles/semi-final-match-1/page1-detail.aspx.
For those who has not cached it online.
Badmintan 03-07-2009, 07:53 PM The 2nd set interval, Chen Jin conceded a walkover owing to stomach cramps or back pain.
Obviously Chen Jin helped Lin Dan to warm up before the Finals. Chen Jin "owe" Lin Dan last year's All England:D title and is returning the favour.
But Lin Dan looked impressive in that game, his acceleration to 'suddenly' attack by jumpsmash was impressive, his speed and recovery is superb.
I think LCW will be nervous seeing an 'in form' Lin Dan.
ss9378j 03-07-2009, 08:14 PM i was falling asleep when they playing to be honest.. but all of the sudden cj gave up..? it'sa shame actually..even though he din wanna win he should finish the whole match
Athelete1234 03-07-2009, 08:16 PM Even if CJ was playing serious, he would have gotten trashed by LD considering how he barely beat everybody else (and they're not even like top 10 people to beat either).
Ferrerkiko 03-07-2009, 08:16 PM I feel its just a tactic play by lee yong bo, to let lin dan play in the final , so as not to let lin dan over tired , reserved the energy for the final!;)
george@chongwei 03-07-2009, 11:24 PM where's cooler and the gangs?:D
george@chongwei 03-07-2009, 11:26 PM i was like, wth?? when the 2nd set interval resume after the commercial break.
i though, huh? so fast the match already finished? i though my live streaming hang or what:eek:
then heard GILL CLARK said about the withdrawal ..etc, only i know..

This is a tricky question like UPSR exam so to be safe my answer will be
e) All are correct :D:D
joelabb 03-13-2009, 10:22 PM I think this time LYB will not make it too obvious. LD will win in rubber sets. 19-21 21-17 25-23 :D

sepang 03-14-2009, 12:32 AM Chen Jin injured in AE, still can make it to semi-final in swiss open. Other players must be handicap. :-D
extremenanopowe 03-14-2009, 02:51 AM CJ will be another BCL when it comes to semis. Too bad. Loyalty comes first. Professionalism is secondary. That's why its difficult for badminton to achieve this status. ;)
