Deep in is heart, Taufik Hidayat knows that this will be his last chance of landing the last major title that's missing from his trophy cabinet. He had done the first job nicely yesterday, despatching Peter Gade in straight-sets. 2 mightly opponents await him: Lee Chong Wei today; and almost certainly Lin Dan in the Final on Sunday.

I will think that he has more confidence against Lee Chong Wei; having beaten him last year in the Macau Open Final. So, I will put him as 51-49 against Dato Lee. As for the Final match, unless he can reproduce his form during the WC 2005 and Asian Games Individual Event Final 2006, it's hard to see anyone but Lin Dan winning the All-England MS Trophy yet again.

If there's anyone who can beat the supremely fit and in-form Lin Dan, it has to be Taufik Hidayat :rolleyes:

Yep plenty of upset possibilities. But agree 100% with the gado-gado pair i hope they become the first cross nation pair to make it to AE final:) or has this happened before in XD:confused:

I would rate Taufik chance of meeting Lindan higher than LCW cause his style of play is suitable to play against LCW ( tight net shot follow by power smash. Putting pressure on the opponent, not giving them much chance on the offense ). Let put it this way, a out of shape Taufik in AE last year could almost match a well prepared LCW ( even through LCW wasn't really in top form ).

Who would win the title......... this one is hard to say. Taufik maybe getting back his old self but the current Lindan is much better than he one he beat in WC05 and AG06.

I'm becoming fans of Flandy/Ana, dont let me down today guys!

Let me tell you this: It was more of Peter Gade losing the match than Taufik winning it. Peter was way too slow and passive but it will be a total ball game against Lee Chong Wei.

Having said that, I think Taufik still has a chance against Datuk but Datuk has a slight edge though, probably 55-45.

PG tactically lost it with that coach who's not MF.
This is not TH's last chance. He still has a lot of mileage unused since he has not played as much badminton as LCW or LD.TH will always have a chance as long as he's motivated but the outcome also depends on his opponent and that means the draw..

He Hanbin/Yu Yang over Limpele/Russkikh - Flandy is smart and Anastasia is no pushover, but well oiled CHN powerhouses will hammer them home.

Taufik Hidayat over LCW - amazing what motivation can do to Taufik's game, complete reversal from his form at SS Finals.

Jiang Yanjiao over Tine Rasmussen - Tine's lack of concentration at certain moments almost cost her yesterday, Jiang will not be charitable

Boe/Mogensen over Cai/Fu - technical Danes outmaneuver superfast Chinese

Wang Yihan over Nanna Brosolat Jensen - walk in the park for WYH, Nanna has done well but still not at the same level.

Lin Dan over Chen Jin - no comment.

Zheng Bo/Ma Jin over Ko/Ha - powerful Chinese destroy Korean hope

Zhang Yawen/Zhao Tingting over Du Jing/Yu Yang - more experienced girls prevail

LD has more than earned his applauds. His supreme display today against JP shows he's ready to roll.

TH's display against a strangely lost PG shows he's determined to capture the title that has eluded him. Two heartbreaks are more than enough.

And then there's LCW, sputtering along, trying to glue his stuttering form together. When the pressure has been on, LCW has stumbled many a time. Guess what? He is more than happy to be out of the limelight, and maybe the pressure is slightly alleviated. The general consensus is that TH will edge this SF–there's every indication this will happen. LCW's always performed better when he's the underdog and this is a situation that suits him better.

Itt has to be noted though, that LCW is the only player we have that maintains a semblance of consistency right now. The spectacle is always on him delivering. The Malaysian media is pretty much unforgiving.

Whereas Lin Dan and Taufik are both surrounded by World Championship/Olympic Champion material teammates. This probably gives them less pressure overall because even if they don't make it, their teammates will. Having said that, it is still very good to see them both winning the major titles convincingly.

Flandy/Anastasia come out to play. Quite pretty, Anastasia .......
