It's great that the lower ranked players, WYH, HSH/HJM, CS/ZYL and KSH/HJE have made it into the Finals.
All the best to all participants in the 2009 All England Finals.

extremenanopowe 03-07-2009, 08:38 PM Ya. those flags are so red, it looks like a stock market indicator.. plundging down. Doesn't look like a depression since ticket is sold out. Thanks to badminton fans for keeping up the economy. ;)
Hope LCW wont buckle on pressure for the solid player LD. ;)
abedeng 03-07-2009, 10:02 PM My Prediction:
Lin Dan over Lee Chong Wei - Both players at their best but Lin Dan made it effortless. Coupled with the fact that their last AE clash went LD's way (where he came back to bring down LCW from 6-13 down in the rubber), LD has the mental edge. But I am still happy with LCW's consistency, given that he has the higher pressure (not as World No 1, but as the one who holds the weight of expectations from an uncompromising nation).
Tine Rasmussen over Wang Yihan - CHN has to win this to reassert their supremacy. But their last player standing (WYH) will need to dig deep. These CHN youngsters have not really established themselves yet, witness how Wang Lin fell by the wayside to Yippy. Like Morten Frost said in the last AE, the only player who can beat Tine is herself.
Cai/Fu over HSH/HJM - When it comes to CHN vs KOR, if it is not LYD and his regular partner, the match goes to China.
ZYW/ZTT over CS/ZYL - No doubt, these are the real CHN no 1 pair when it comes to all CHN clashes.
HHB/YY over Ko/Ha - A very tough battle, Olympic medallists will be aware of the expectations against them after ZB/MJ's spectacular defeat.
jermaine 03-07-2009, 10:21 PM lin dan to win by margin.
jutawin 03-07-2009, 10:32 PM China win 4 titles today.
Leave WS title to Denmark.
leonardklh 03-07-2009, 10:50 PM come on lee chong wei... jia you!!! come on tine.. come on hwang and han
Ching293 03-07-2009, 11:27 PM i hope if LCW wins today which is unlikely, the "after AE jinx(going downhill) like Hafiz and Koo/Tan " will not happen..
LI De Quan 03-07-2009, 11:33 PM come on FENG-YUN!!
↖(^ω^)↗
jasonmarc 03-08-2009, 12:43 AM MS title sure to LD..............his form is really good now...and have psychological advantage over LCW....

Yes,....I agree with U........but I pick WYH....in WS.........TR's game is too depending on her powerful shot.......WYH had beaten her before and will do it one more time.......

I don't disagree with u.
CHN almost guarantees 3 titles from WD, MD & XD.
It's all up to Tine & our Datuk to prevent it from a clean sweep by CHN.

Arsene 03-08-2009, 06:26 AM I'll put my money on Chong Wei today.
It is time for Lin Dan to have a bad match.
He is superb so far but human after all.
p/s: I hoping Chong Wei to win so badly :)
Fidget 03-08-2009, 06:46 AM I'll put my money on Chong Wei today.
It is time for Lin Dan to have a bad match.
What you mean is that you want both men to play to the best of their abilities for an exciting match with your man being victorious.;):) We really don't want to see another Taufik v LCW snorer?

extremenanopowe 03-08-2009, 07:19 AM My guess is LD 70 and LCW 30. Don't put pressure on him too much. LD knows LCW weakness well. Where else, LCW staff members didn't do the homework. So expect LD to win it. ;) But if LCW can win, it will be a bonus. ;)
volcom 03-08-2009, 07:29 AM another 25 minutes and 40 seconds to start.;):D

abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:34 AM The KOR qualifiers are in all black kit.
Gill Clark is wondering if Ko/Ha can do the same as Koo/Tan, winning a super series from qualifying rounds.
yen_saw 03-08-2009, 07:36 AM At least this AE will be more entertaining since there is only WD with all CHN compared to GO ;)
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:38 AM Chen Xingdong seems not fully recovered from his outburst to Zheng Bo last night.
Ha Tae Kwon joins Kang Kyung Jin in the coaching chair.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:39 AM YY short serve gives KOR 1st point.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:39 AM CHN pair show their nerves, KOR take advantage.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:40 AM Ha good service return, YY stretched.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:40 AM Ko flew and whacks the shuttle.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:41 AM HHB cross court drive, then a KO mistake at the net brings them back level.
yen_saw 03-08-2009, 07:42 AM GUess only you and me in this forum now abedeng
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:42 AM HHB pushed the shuttle too wide.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:42 AM YY hunts the net with easy putaway.
yen_saw 03-08-2009, 07:42 AM INA fans prolly all gone after TH lost
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:43 AM HHB smashes wide but appeals to umpire, saying the shuttle hit Ha.

abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:45 AM YY intercepts a slightly loose return.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:46 AM YY great low serve, 10-7
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:46 AM HHB forced to the corner and pushes the shuttle to the net.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:47 AM Again HHB isolated and stretched, coup de grace to YY's body.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:47 AM KOR great defence and clear to open court.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:48 AM Koreans lead by 1 with Ko's leaping power.

madbad 03-08-2009, 07:54 AM I honestly thought YY would be the dominant player today but not so. HHB also a little ragged 16-13
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:54 AM Brilliant KOR placement midway thru the rally changes the complexion of the rally.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:55 AM Again, KOR defence is too good and HHB is stranded.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:55 AM KOR channel attack forces HHB error.

abedeng 03-08-2009, 07:59 AM Ko's unbelievable backhand drive confuses CHN pair.
hi hi hi.
HeHB seems a bit slow and losing focus today. Yu just making too many mistakes at the net and not helping HeHB enough.
not to discount Ko and Ha, they are playing perfect game with the strongest defense that is puzzling the Chinese.
i really need to make more time to watch more badminton. :)

abedeng 03-08-2009, 08:12 AM Again, CHN error brings KOR close.

HHB again with a clear too long.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 08:14 AM YY forces Ko wide and HHB kills the shuttle.
Ko making a few errors on YY's pressure.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 08:14 AM Yup, YY is in control now ..... My PAW chances are going.
flick serve seems to have rattles the KOR a little bit. showing some loss in focus when they are brought out of their comfort zone.

eaglehelang 03-08-2009, 08:19 AM Our girl Ha is making a name for herself this tournament
Yup, looks like Ha/Ko will be better known than Ha/Kim in WD. She's finally doing well in XD.
abedeng 03-08-2009, 08:19 AM Ko frustrated with YY's dominance at the net.
madbad 03-08-2009, 08:20 AM CHN continue their dominance 2-0
abedeng 03-08-2009, 08:20 AM Deep attack to Ko's body gives CHN momentum.

madbad 03-08-2009, 08:23 AM Ko misses a sitter into the net 8-0
abedeng 03-08-2009, 08:23 AM Yup, Koreans crumble the same way as Zheng Bo.
Minus the shouting between partners, of course.
yen_saw 03-08-2009, 08:23 AM gez when wil the "egg" break?
Ko still young. his lack of composure has gotten the better of him. he is too caught up by his prior mistakes.

madbad 03-08-2009, 08:25 AM KOR pair is disheartened. No answer for the CHN artillery 11-1
if KOR wants to win, they need to think about winning and not about how not to play badminton.

leonardklh 03-08-2009, 08:39 AM come on chong wei!!!
shows that mental power is the key at this level of badminton. Ko/Ha played brilliantly and solidly in the first game, everything was returned fast and flat back to He/Yu. a lost in composure and confidence on their part saw that this pair starts to crumble at the middle of the 2nd game. self criticism and doubt start to dominate and then everything was history.
leonardklh 03-08-2009, 08:39 AM china never change their shirt.. always wear the same black and yellow!! busuk!
volcom 03-08-2009, 08:40 AM ok come on... match of the day LCW vs TH

Not to forget they played two extra matches in the qualifying as well as two consecutive 3 setters before the final, with their semifinal being the last match of the evening yesterday while He/Yu was the first match of the day. Strange order of play if you ask me ...
