LD is The Tiger Woods of badminton - He is so much better than anyone else that he could beat his peers on one leg :p (for those who don't follow Golf - Tiger Woods won a Major in 2008 (equivalent to AE if you like) hobbling on 1 leg - he underwent knee surgery immediately afterwards, putting him out of action for over 8/9 months)

X_X maybe I should rephrase xD.. In my opinion, I think Losing to Lin Dan so many times in a Row has taken a psychological toll on Lee Chong Wei =S.. LCW seems so fast when he plays against other players.. But! When he plays against Lin Dan.. It only looks like he is slow.. But im sure its just that Lin Dan is faster @_@...

LCW should change to 4 or 5th gear when playing Lin Dan instead of waiting for Lin Dan to initiate the attack.

TH really isn't the best benchmark of a good player. He shows flashes of brilliance every once in a while, but overall he's just decent at best. Sorry to all TH fans out there, just my opinion.

LD has a huge psychological edge against just about anyone. He believes, and for good reason, that he is the best. Add that to his skill and athleticism and you have a very dominant player, just like Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Federer (before his most recent loss to nadal) and many others.

It is but natural for fans to crave for someone who could challeng LD since it makes the game more exciting. That's why LCW is quite popular. However, I think the current player who has the best chance of beating him is still TH, not because he believes that he's better than LD, but because it's personal. In othher words, he hates LD's guts.

That may be true before the Beijing Olympics. Since then Lin Dan is a different beast of a player-Taufik would have been humiliated by him.
Watch Lin Dan play against all his opponents in the AE-he just rubbished them. You get a feeling this chap is unbeatable, even if he is behind. It is like a cat toying with a victim before she eats it.

But all people think now Bao was better than Lin Dan when they were teenagers, because people just live in that one snapshot. People don't care Lin dan actually beat Bao CL all the other time when they were juniors.

Taufik was another succesfful example, his performance was never comparable to Lin Dan. But he managed to steal the OG and WC. Then he became the player who can win whenever he wants to.

Therefore for Lee CW, the best strategy is not to fight seriously with Lin Dan at each tournament, he should learn from Taufik, don't even want to win those matches. Just try to steal a title at OG or WC those smaller scaled tournameets, then make a snapshot, let the whole history frozen at that point, then he will become another player of winning as long as he wants.

I don't think LCW is arrogant, in fact he seemed like a shy person with no self-confidence or too humble.

On the other hand, Lin Dan is so extremely confident of his abilities, that he seemed arrogant.
